NJ fans are asking, "Lopez for Smith?"

What do we think about it? For my part, I would be scared of what Farmar and Petro would do to our salary structure. Added to Lopez's new contract, we'd definitely be way into the luxury tax. I like the trade but I hate the extra players.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

they want Smoove for two reasons:

1. he is better than Lopez

2. NJ fans think that Josh's friendship with Dwight will help them land Dwight by giving Dwight one more incentive.

for the simple fact that Smoove is better than Lopez..... hell no to the trade.

just take advise from last year's Mavs and Magic.... you don't win championships by trading away defense for offense

Yes, I would do the trade in a minute, but the throw in players ruining it. Josh for Lopez straight up in a minute.

I'd do Smoove for Lopez straight up but HELL NO to Smoove for Lopez and bad contracts, IDC what some of the arrogent Nets fans think about Smith, they clearly haven't seen his numbers of late.

Jordan Farmer has a player option for $4.2 million and Johan Petro has one year left that will pay him $3.5 million. It's not like those two contracts are that bad. Anthony Morrow will make $4 million next season, Shawne Williams has a player option for just over $3 million, so none of the Nets extra baggage scares me off.

The contracts aren't bad within themselves but once you factor in Lopez' extension with those contracts and I'm assuming our top 1st seeing as we won't have a frontcourt for the remainder of the season, then you are looking at lux tax next year.

True, that's why it would have to be Lopez for Smith straight up. I am not in love with Lopez nor Josh so I am fine with doing it, atleast Lopez is 7ft tall
