McGrady Upset Over Lack Of Playing Time

Tracy McGrady is frustrated with his disappearing reserve role.
“I’m tired of this [bleep],” McGrady said after logging just 4:39 during the 97-77 loss to the Blazers late Saturday. “You can put that in the paper, I don’t give a [bleep].”
McGrady said coach Larry Drew hasn’t offered him an explanation when he doesn’t play him many minutes.
“If you don’t feel I can help, come tell me that,” McGrady said. “He ain’t told me nothing. I just want to help these guys win, man, which I know I can. But, damn, four minutes?”
McGrady is eligible for a trade on March 1, but indicated he would prefer to remain with the Hawks.
“Hopefully, I’m here,” he said. “I like it here. I like the guys. That’s what I love most about it. I like the guys in this locker room. But at the same time, I still can play. No doubt in my mind.

What McGrady must understand is that we're not about "team", it's all about keeping Joe and Josh happy.
We should use McGrady more and it's a no brainer.

I don't think it's about Josh & Joe, but TMac should be playing 25 - 30 minite until he proves he can't! He brings way too much not to play him. These guy are just Morons!

HMFFL... How is it about keeping Josh happy? Examples?
Its about not making the front office trades and resignings look stupid. We can come up with plenty examples of those moves.
Mcgrady wants more minutes & only to help. Not start.
Marvin would be better matchup as a big wing. He has lost his right as starter. Again.
Vlad plays better with Teague, Joe, Josh + Zaza rather than playing PF/C. Start him.

I was joking around.
My point is more so that the focus is to keep Joe Johnson and Josh Smith happy with their minutes and no one else.

This, the stupid idea to put up more 3s which has facilitated Vlad getting too many minutes, Kirk being forced back into game shape and Mean Willie being on fire lately are the top reasons he's not playing. Joe has been stealing all of the backup SF minutes because Willie is the 6th man now with him and Kirk being first off the bench so until LD decides he can play Willie some at the 1 Tracy is not going to see much time. Of course people will find a way to just blame Marvin who is the first one subbed and doesn't see the last 3rd of any game regardless, has to be his fault though, right?

You do not let a 2 time scoring champion, multiple all star player like McGrady sit on the bench. If he's not starting then he should be the first player coming off the bench. I like the idea of Odom for T-Mac. Tracy really deserves a shot at getting a ring.

Team has no clue. LD has no clue. End of story.

Last four games: Willie Green 12.4 pts TMac 4.0 pts, that simple...Any explanation needed?
TMac will see increased PT in play-offs, if performing.

I agree that Willie Green has earned the right to be the 1st SG off the bench. McGrady is relegated to winning minutes at SF.

TMac should come in when Marvin or Teagues comes out, because TMac plays the point forward role anyway.
Hinrich is really the guy that is stealing TMac's minutes.
i want to see Hinrich's minutes go down and TMac's minutes go up.

Hirich, Green, McGrady, Rad, Johnson...that should be the backups.
HONESTLY, the starting lineup should be Teague, Joe, Tracy, Josh, Zaza with Marvin heading up the bench unit where he can actually get shots and drives.

Jeff Teague only has three attempts. He needs more and he should be told to shoot or drive inside. No excuses!

As a detroit fan i was very surprised to see Tmac getting hardly any minutes. Last year he was really good and could play PG, SG and SF.
I must admit i haven't followed atlanta this year, so i was wondering how you guys have used Tmac??
Has he been useful? Has he been playing Point foward??

He was point forward until Hinrich came back. Now we play Hinrich fall back double digits and try to force feed McGrady to catch up.
