Antawn Jamison for Marvin and Hinrich

Hawks a vet SF who can shoot 3s. Jamison also has a huge expiring contract

Cavs get something for nothing for Jamison. Marvin is a young SF who could use a fresh start with Irving and Marvin's contract won't look so bad after this year.

I think JAM is most comfortable at the 4, not the 3, and I believe he mainly plays the 4 with Cleveland. For us to acquire him value will need to be added unless they really like Marvin Williams.

Considering the ASG would like to dump Marvin's contract I don't think they could swing a deal without including a pick of some sort. Marvin's deal isn't as horrible as many of the ones that got amnesty treatment, but he's not shown the type of confidence or improvement to make people believe that he'd earn his 8M+ a year with a change of scenery.

Don't get me wrong Marvin is not horrible. He plays solid defense and shoots a decent percentage from long range. He sucks trying to finish inside and while he has a reputation as a solid teammate I've never heard him called a leader. If you get his production at the league minimum you're ecstatic. If you get it for the BAE, you're happy. If you get it for 4M-5M per year you wish you were getting a bit more. If you get it for 7.5-8.5M a year you are really disappointed. Trying to trade Marvin is like trying to trade Jose Calderon. If he made half of what he makes you'd really want him, but at full retail price it's hard to endorse the move.

Strangely enough Cleveland would be a great fit for Marvin (although they may not think so). They have key players at other position on rookie deals so the contract wouldn't be cumbersome and he produces better than their SFs (PER and defense PER). The problem is the length of his deal and his position. Next years draft projects to have PFs, Centers, and SFs. Few guards are making the projections. I think Cleveland would really prefer to keep their options open in terms of a spot in the roster and the money.

i like this deal for atlanta . but i think atlanta would have to add a pick and i think that may be too much to give up unless were getting a big man . i was reading the session , marvin rumors and this makes more sense to me . atlanta get out of marvins contract and hopefully they could use kirk and a pick to get a big man .

^ their are a few gems that might fall to the Hawks in the first round like Quincy Miller or Tony Wroten, but i think i would be okay with adding an unprotected 2012 first round pick if the Cavs offered their Hornets' 2012 second-round pick.

Jamison and the 32nd pick for Marvin, Hinrich, and the 21st pick.

Marvin has value for the Cavs. No sweetner needed

On a financial POV, it's a good trade, because it would allow us several options this summer, including re-signing Jamison for a lesser salary and use the MLE (and add minimum salary players).
It's always a good option to get guys overpaid in their last year of a contract and re-signing them, but it's interesting only if they still had something in the tank, and can be a good fit for the team.

We could also let him walk, but it wouldn't create lots of room to get a big player, maybe 7-8M under the cap, unless we trade Zaza for an expiring contract for example.

WOW.

Carlos Delfino was guarding him. Carlos Delfino was guarding him. Carlos Delfino was guarding him. Carlos Delfino was guarding him. Carlos Delfino was guarding him. Carlos Delfino was guarding him.

We gave him the ball he failed. Then we gave everyone else a chance. They scored.

Do you understand how ridiculous you sound trying to defend him?

i think Marvin would do great with a great post player like Dwight or Zach Randolph, i think he could do alot of good in a Magic uniform.

Carlos is a horrible defender and really small, Marvin should have put up 30pts against him.
