Lamar Odom for Kirk Hinrich.
i don't think the Hawks would even need to add a pick to this.
it would save the Mavs about 2 million
Lamar could be happy, because the Hawks can make Lamar into a starter and give him starter minutes.

This would be a great move....but would we be over the luxury tax?

I LOVE this move from a basketball standpoint. We'd have the most versatile front court in the league next season.
But from a front office perspective, it's a salary cap killer.

Uhm, isn't Odom's whole issue that he's sad about being traded from LA and is contemplating retirement because his dad is sick now? How does being traded again to a city that features warm weather yes but no beaches (a priority for him during his free agency) help with that? It's a pointless trade because his heart just ain't into basketball.

Replied on the T&T board, but really, I'm not sure what Odom brings that we wouldn't already have at the PF/combo F position. He doesn't add any real versatility to our system - just another body. Great for teams that we already match up against, not so much against teams were we need something else.

Kirk Hinrich is useless to Dallas. They need more frontcourt depth to replace Odom and are better off keeping him. Odom won't be happy playing in Atlanta. He'd have to move his family once again and it's not on his own terms.
