Douglas is available says espn. The Knicks are hardly using him and he as become a bench warmer playing only 6 minutes in the last 6 games. I think the Hawks should look in to him. He is also a Jonesboro Georgia native so he might be a good fit.

I like Douglus he hustles and plays hard, but what would we give for him? Maybe Hinrich for Douglus straight up if that move doesn't take us into the lux cap next season

Douglas makes 1.1M this year and 2M next. We could swap a minimum salary deal for him if NY really wants to dump his salary for next year, but it would cost the owners close to an extra 750K when you factor in luxury tax penalties. Other than that I wouldn't swap a pick for him if that is what it costs. He's a tweener and I think you can get that easily at any point of the draft.

I think we can make a pitch to New York of Douglus for Hinrich. Douglus barely plays at all and we could tell them that Hinrich could mentor Iman Shumpert.

Kirk but I don't think it will work financially. Makes sense considering he will be cheaper than Kirk to resign next year.

Kirk Hinrich is at 8 Mill salary, so a definite mismatch with Toney Douglass who's at 1.1 Mil. And the Knicks are already having cap trouble because of the max salaries they gave out to Melo, Stoudemire, and to a lesser extent Chandler. So unlikely to want Kirk's 8Mil salary. Luxury tax is not the problem -- NY is a large, rich market, and the owner has an open checkbook. The problem is the cap makes it impossible for the Knicks to even retain all the talent they currently have who are entering free agency this year (Lin, Novak, Baron Davis, JR SMith, and more are all free agents at end of year). So Knicks have no desire to add to the cap.

But yeah, Knicks are shopping Toney Douglass around b/c of a too deep bench (considerable recent upgrades with the addition of JR Smith and Baron Davis), so TD won't even get to play. And TD isn't able to run the type of heavy usage PG-centric offensive system that D'antoni practices.

he cant run the point. And the hawks are already loaded with gunners with willie green and pargo.

I see 0 reason to get him, even if he was given to us for free.
