Get ready for a year of NJ going after Josh & Dwight Howard

With Deron Williams almost promising he'll leave this offseason, NJ will be able to sign 2 max free agents. If DH finally agrees to move, he and Josh can have their own team in a major, major market.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

We'll be compensated with Brook Lopez who moves Horford to his natural position:
Compensation 1

Get ready for a Portland trailblazers type rebuild except with $22mil win-now man or $22mil of Kyle Korver esque contracts attached .

This won't happen. Number one, Josh is not a free agent this yr and second, Dwight has a yr left with Orl..Nets would have to trade for both this offseason, if things somehow go down hill for Dwight. And they don't have assets to trade for both. Dwight also, will not leave, if ORL can show him they are title condendors.

Sorry for the confusion. It's my fault for not being clearer. I can write better than what I did - I don't know why I didn't.

Both Josh Smith and Dwight Howard will become FAs at the same time - at the end of next season, which is why I said to expect a year of NJ going after both. What I meant by my comment about Deron Williams is that his leaving will give NJ the caproom for both Josh and DH.

Why would NJN give up anything to land an FA they've got the cap room to sign? With the new CBA disallowing the trading of Bird Rights, the need to SNT has drastically decreased. If NJN was up against the cap, then we might land some assets, but the fact is that basically their entire team expires after this season or next. They'll have plenty of room to chase after D12 and whoever he wants to play with. Lopez would get moved for another part to surround D12 with - not Smoove.

As for the OP, I don't see Smoove as a logical choice to pair with D12. Any GM would realize that having 2 guys in the post isn't a good plan so putting the lion's share of your cap room into 2 guys there won't be a smart b-ball move. If they can land D12, then they'll go after an outside shooter so they can leave D12 alone in the middle.
