Should the hawks go after walsh if they dont resign rick sund. Donnie walsh turned the
Knick organization around in 2 years. He got the best coach that was out there when the knicks didnt have a good team. He did a good job when he was indiana. If they get rid of rick sund it need to be an upgrade

Re: Donnie Walsh wants to run another team
I would like it. We really need an infusion of creativity in the FO and Walsh has shown that at times. Having said that, I doubt that the ASG would dig deep enough into their pockets to make it happen.

Re: Donnie Walsh wants to run another team
oh good lord no, Walsh is horrible.
not even talking about Carmelo, Amare, and D'Antoni
Walsh is horrible at the draft:
Hill over DeRozan, Jennings, Teague, Gibson, and Holliday
Shumpert over Faried and Brooks
Gallinari over Gordon, Lopez, and Hibbert
as a Pacer:
Shawne Williams over Rondo and Lowry...... etc

Re: Donnie Walsh wants to run another team
For the love of God, please. He built the pre-malice Pacers and was even able to secure future flexibility for them afterwards despite having to trade guys for pennies on the dollar and then went on to put the Knicks in position to rebuild after Isiah (before Dolan killed it with the Carmelo trade). He's a smart guy who can actually create a longterm plan, something that the ASG, BK and Sund have never been capable of.
Doubt he'd want to come here despite the money though, he resigned from the Knicks because of a meddling owner so I doubt he'd be open to Gearon and Levenson trying to do his job for him.

I don't see what's so bad about those 2.
I definitely think he would be a upgrade over Sund creatively.

Re: Donnie Walsh wants to run another team
Not feeling Walsh, due to his age. Also reviewing the moves he made in New York and it was not that impressive. He had a long successful stint with Indiana, but I'd call his draft decisions average at best. Those past returns are not a guarantee of future success. I was hoping that they may go young at GM like Kevin Pritchard formerly of the Trailblazers, but he might be moving up with the Pacers. Another guy I like is Daryl Morey if relieved of his duties in Houston. Pritchard is the ultimate draft wheeler and dealer and with Morey I'd at least be certain that his moves are mathematically sound.

Re: Donnie Walsh wants to run another team
Please get Walsh in Atlanta ASAP. For the ones who wouldn't want him because of who he drafts, well to go further into those picks, Jordan Hill was perfect for the Knicks at the time and plus he had a lot of upside to go with a great set of physical tools and the same for Gallo. Walsh drafted based on what D'antonio ran.

No general manager is going to have a perfect record with draft picks. Walsh is better than most. Hawks should definitely consider it if he's interested.
