Very sad to hear that. What a disappointment it's going to be not having him in the playoffs, but staying healthy long-term is more beneficial, so I hope he gets as close to 100% asap.

I've missed Horford, the Hawks games are just not as fun without him.

I just read another story on the bleacher report. Al plans on playing against dallas this week

Bleacher report is low on credibility, but I don't know wait and see I guess.

Marc J. Spears tweeted a flip-flop of his initial report of Al being out. The revised report said that he talked with the doctor and was reassured that some weakness was normal. He now anticipates about 15 minutes a game in round 1.

I still think he'll be very limited and from the one interview I saw probably tentative. I'm still more interested in Zaza coming back, but I've not heard anything good on that front.

Huh?

I figured he'd be lucky to play 10 minutes at best off the bat.

This is all intox. If Hwaks advance, we will see him play. To what extent is another story. Coming back from such an injury in the middle of the rugged PO is probably not the best scenario for Al....

I don't get it. If he can play Thursday, why not 2morrow?

Now it is when I do not understand two things:

if there were so many doubts about Al coming back in time this season, why not signing a big man like Sean Williams, Diaw or any other who can help a little. Do we really think we can go around with JS, Ivan and Zaza?

if he is not expected to play, why rushinbg up anything? why not going a little bit slower and do a better recovery?

Because the dumbasses guaranteed Dampier by signing him to a 3rd 10 day contract halfway into the season and needed to sell our second rounder in order to cover the tax bill on that blunder. They didn't even give themselves the opportunity to take a look at guys that were waived after the trade deadline because they were already locked into the roster.

I listened briefly to 680 the fan in the car and they discussed Al Horford coming back early. They said he should be praised for it, and the team should allow him to play, if he truly wants to play. Now, the risk is high since Al is far from being 100%, but the team needs him, and they should go all in.

I have mixed feelings. I think Horford should be allowed to play if he wants and if the medical staff says he can go. We could use him even if he plays a limited amount of minutes.

I am really not a fan of this if all he can do is play 15 minutes and not rebound or finish around the rim.

I have greater confidence in Al being able to achieve any of those things at only 70% than I do Collins at 100%. Not the best but it's an upgrade.

yeah.. 50% of Horford is better than Zaza + Collins + Ivan down on the block either defense or offense.
