Any update on Zaza?

Are we going to have to depend on Collins and Damp? That would not be good going forward.

Matchups:

Teague/Rondo
Hindrich/Allen
JJ/Pierce
Josh/Garnett
Collins-Ivan-Damp/Williams?

This is an excellent matchup for us. If Rondo does what he wants, we are in trouble.

Teague needs to keep forcing the pressure and Joe needs to flat out lead us.

Thanks for stickying this. I got us in 5. Not concerned by Rondo or anything the Celts have. I think Kirk will be asked to earn his keeps by guarding Rondo anyway.

Hey guys, this should a fun series. I see it going to 6 gms because the Hawks always give the C's trouble. I'd be really be scared sh*tless if Horford and Zaza were playing.

Hawks are owned by the Cs. This season and the past.

Cs will try to keep the ball out of JJ's hand and let Josh Smith take as many jump shots as long as KG cuts off his drives and uses his size in the post and keeps him out of the paint.

Ray Allen (offense) and Pietrus (lockdown Joe) off the bench.

Without Horford The only chance we had was using our big lineups in a playoff series. Josh vs Pierce/Pietrus (at the 3, as at the 4 Pierce has shown he can cut off Josh's drives and force Josh into turnovers due to Josh's lack of handles), Ivan and Zaza vs KG and Bass. Teague and Joe vs Rondo and Bradley/Allen.

But now Zaza is out and thats not even an option. Kirk Hinrich????
I don't know how C's fans are ignorant when they have shown they can stop/slow down Josh and Joe.

Tough series because of their D, but when you look at the big picture, this series has way more meaning than if we were to play the Pacers or the Magic for example. I think a win in this series could turn things around for the Hawks franchise. We need to beat of these big boys (Heat, Bulls, Celtics for their resume) in order to get in "their league". You're not being them unless you play them. Teague and Drew are key factors in this series to me, we need to push the ball and force the tempo. I'd throw a lot of zone on them.
GO HAWKS.

Sorry, I didn't read your whole sentence.
No I don't expect a sweep. I actually haven't seen any Cs saying sweep.

I think the popular opinion in sports is that
A) it will be a hard fought series
B) the Hawks beating the veteran, well coached Cs would be an upset.

I actually agree with both of those statements but I still believe we can upset them, youth and bench deph will have to kick in at some point

If Hawks want to win the series the better start T-Mac and play him at least 30 mpg... seriously... you do not let a player who lead the league in scoring twice with what? 7 all-star appearances start on the bench come on now.

I think this Hawks team has the right mix of bench depth and vets to lead them pass the C's this year. This isn't that bright eyed, bushy tailed puppy team of 08 anymore.

How lucky are we that we have no bigs but are taking on a team with no bigs?

Does anyone really think Zaza isn't dying to get in the ring once again vs. Boston ala '08?

As annoying as the TNT crew can be, I'm just happy neither of the upcoming Hawks games are on Disney Sports (ESPN).

Return to Atlanta Hawks
