Houston instigating trade talks for Josh Smith

I'm okay with letting go of Horford or Josh, but i don't see anybody (or even any two players) on Houston's roster that is worth Horford or Josh

If Houston can get a top 3 pick and secure Drumond, then fine, but i don't think Lowry or any combination of their picks will get them a top 3 pick.

1. It's about time somebody came with serious interest in Josh.

2. I'm surprised it's not Detroit which has long coveted him..

3. Is there a link?

HOU seems to be greatly valuing their picks and Lowry, if we can believe the rumor that they offered Lowry and the #s 14 and 16 for Tyreke Evans and the #5.

Houston is apparently going to pursue any talent they can get with the picks they have. Houston was actually on Josh Smith's list of teams that he provided Sund with in the past.

I would kill for a Dalembert Martin Patterson and 14 for Josh and Marvin

at 14 Draft Meyers or Zeller
at 23 Best sg/sf prospect available

At the deadline flip Martin and or Dale for a pick or some other pieces.

pg-Teague/FA
sg-Martin/Joe/23
sf-Joe/23
PF-Al/Patterson
C-Dalembert/ZaZa/Meyer or Zeller

If we get scola and martin and one of their picks this would be a very nice trade

If Houston gave us a draft pick and Samuel dalembert. For Marvin and josh smith I will do that in a heartbeat. it will give us a starting center two 1st round picks and we have like 22 million before we reach the luxury tax. We could build our bench with that.

They want Dwight so they are only going as far as offering the B deal for Josh so that they can save the A assets for Dwight. Seeing as their ultimate plan is getting Dwight, people should then also keep in mind that they only value Josh as only a means to that end.

Martin+Scola+Dalembert for Smith+Horford? Martin and Dalembert are EC worth around 19mil. Scola is on a very manageable 8.5m contract. Scola is a true professional I would hate to lose. Great locker room presence as well. Martin would be great in your system, he and Mchale just dont see eye to eye.

You really think Martin, Scola, and Daly can get you Horford and Smith?

Personally I think your Houston package is garbage and isn't enough to get one of them, let alone both.

for which one? You must realize that your package isn't enough to get Josh alone, right? We would rather make noise with Josh one more year than get stuck with Scola for an extra 2 years.

Multiple picks, please.

Smith rebounds and blocks at a better level than Scola. But Scola is about $4m cheaper, has a higher FG%, has more range, and isn't atrocious at the stripe. It would be miserable to be "stuck" with him for 2 years.

You do realize that both Smith and Horford are more valuable than anything you are offering. Smith does a little bit of everything and with Scola you are getting a more offensive oriented player. That isn't what Atlanta needs. Your trade does not make them better. They would be going with a Scola/Dalembert frontline which is a huge no go.

I can't see Smith being traded that cheaply. Bringing him in would be a huge plus to Houston in trying to acquire Howard, however Atlanta would want a very high draft pick for Smith and Houston can't offer that.
