Please help me out on Lowry.

I keep reading Kyle Lowry being offered for ... basically, the moon.

Thy guy is 6 feet tall, not the fastest player in the NBA, not the quickest.
He's not a great athlete, not long, not a breath-taking leaper.
Production-wise, he's not the greatest passer, shooter (pitiful FG% of .409 but a good 3pt% of .374), driver or PNR man.
He's not getting to the line all that much.
No one is nominating him for the all-defensive team.

Seems to me, what he is is a nice, solid PG at the peak of his career: 14.3 pts/gm, 6.6 assists/gm, with a PER of 18.89.

So, why all the talk about him (especially considering his own team is looking to start another PG who has never started a full season)?

What am I missing about the guy?

he is Sam Cassell or Rod Strickland. he is a good PG but not a game changer. he is not an all star talent, so you have going to have to put two all stars around him. his defense and hustle makes him a fan favorite to homers, which makes him overvalued.

The guy is just a bull dog on the court. All those things you mentioned about him, Par, yet every time I've seen him on the court he makes his presence known. Won't wow you but he'll earn your respect which front office and coach types value highly both on the court and in the lockerroom.

I'm curious to see what type of value Houston receives for Lowry. Reports are suggesting that he won't be a Rocket after tomorrow night.
