Word has it that, pending passing physicals, the deal is done:
Devin Harris to the Hawks for Marvin Williams.
A SF for a PG. Thoughts??

Re: Mavin W. for Devin Harris
MARVIN is solid. He has talent, but is not very aggressive. He needs to have plays run for him as he is very passive offensively. he's been relegated to spot up three point shooter with us, which was not how he was viewed coming out of college. Solid handle, above average defense.
Good bball IQ, hard worker, just so darn passive. He's a really good locker room guy.
And Mo Williams is your new PG, so you have another solid veteran to help lead your young guns into the future in UTAH.

Re: Mavin W. for Devin Harris
BTW-we don't think much of Devin Harris.
This was just a salary dump. Though he might be motivated to put up big numbers in a contract year, Harris is not in our long term plans.

No starting SF on this team, not worried about Marvin gone just does not solve a issue

Re: Mavin W. for Devin Harris
If we aren't moving Harris for a bigger move then this is a dumb play.
If you are looking for capspace next year, Marvin and his expiring would have been easy to get rid of ANYWAY.
Devin Harris isn't better than Jeff Teague(he just isn't), so he isn't a starting point on this team. He is too small and too bad defensively to be the starting 2 (Morrow is a better 2 than Harris is) and we have no SF. If we do get one, you have to replace Marvins spot up 3 point shooting and defense(38 percent from 3 and solid D no matter how many of you want to ignore his contributions).
This trade had better be part of something bigger.
