DEPENDING on the money Haywood would possibly be a good option for us.

The Mavericks have chosen to use their amnesty clause to sever ties with center Brendan Haywood, who played with the team for two and a half seasons. The team will still owe Haywood the remainder of the money due on his six-year, $55 million extension signed in 2010. http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas ... aywood.ece

Depending on if he wants even more money he might not even be an option.

Or Maybe he wants to go to the heat for the vet minimum.

But dang that would be a great upgrade and gives the Hawks center depth. The playing time is here.

I would rather have Robin Lopez.

This is actually a good call. Forgot he was a FA.

But he's been a bad teammate. I recall him misdirecting Gortat into missing his first team meeting.

My Guess he was angling for a new contract and did not want gortat to outshine him. Which he did.

All we have to offer is the vet minimum correct?

I THINK we might have 3 mil tops for him. I could be wrong.

When you buy a player out, does his salary still count against your cap?

Oh and as a Phoenix fan, I like his play sometimes, but I think its pretty telling that only Portland has come knocking for his services and Phoenix doesn't seem to care if he goes or not. He is too solid a player for it not to be more going on with him.

if Ferry can get a one year deal, or low deal for Haywood, it could be another great move, making it five straight good moves for Ferry in a row

Joe trade
Marvin trade
Ivan signing
Louis signing
Haywood signing

Wrong.

Robin Lopez got a personal visit from Babby, Blanks and Gentry. They gave him a custom-made comic book in which Lopez was the hero. Whether Lopez wants to re-sign with the Suns or not, or whether he wants a fresh start on a new team giving him a starting job, he had to be thrilled that the Suns spent part of Day 1 of free agency with HIM.

They spent part of day one with him because htey hadn't spoken to him yet. They were busy talking to all the players they actually wanted on the team. Seriously, a comic book and no offer makes you think they are making a push for him? Gortat, who they like more, doesn't seem to like the guy. You think they wouldn't move him for a 2nd rounder right now?

bringing in haywood will move horford to the 4 spot which he's been asking since he's been in this league.

your frontline will be pretty darn good IMO.

All you need is a 20point SG to replace JJ....Mayo would be a good fit..he has the ability to score 20 plus for sure
