Can we trade Farmar? If we can, then this trade:

Post#1 » by parson » Sat Jul 14, 2012 7:16 pm

Just wondering because I thought we bought him out but I see he's on the ESPN Trade Machine.

If we could, that'd be another expiring contract to use.

For example, would ORL do this: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=78zs5fg ?

Howard/Davis/Richardson to us for Farmar/Harris/Pachulia/Morrow/Petro/Stevenson. We add HOU's 1st from 2013 and 2 of our 1sts. We give them 3 firsts and leave them only owing $4million in contracts after 2013.

3 firsts and almost total cap freedom (plus Jameer Nelson, sorry, I forgot him) - how valuable would that be for the Magic? And we take DH with no promise of him re-signing.

That's what I assumed, as well, but HOU is offering about the same:
Marc Stein and Chad Ford wrote:Sources told ESPN.com the Rockets, after going ahead Friday with their plans to release starting power forward Luis Scola via the NBA's amnesty clause, are now able to absorb the contracts of Glen Davis, Jason Richardson and Chris Duhon -- in addition to offering Orlando various combinations of future first-round draft picks and players drafted in the first round by Houston last month -- to give the Magic an opportunity to wipe their payroll virtually clean for their post-Howard rebuilding effort.

What are the variables of those "various combinations? They're offering Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris and Chandler Parsons and ...
Marc Stein and Chad Ford wrote:according to sources, are prepared to combine an asset or two from Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones with future first-round picks they have stashed ...

They're offering expirings, picks and salary relief.

Yes but Houston is offering more prospects for the future as opposed to expiring contracts, Patterson is a recent lotto pick, Parsons broke out as a great rookie last season and their offering 2 of there picks this yr and can also offer 2 more future picks. We cant match that by offering just expirings and possibly late picks, but why bother: Orlando hasnt expressed much interest in Houstons package anyway
