i won't believe a commitment until Dwight actually signs it..... i mean, this is Dwight Howard we are talking about.

but i'm still not that concern if Dwight ultimately doesn't end up with the Hawks, because with all the cap space the Hawks have, Ferry will still be able to sign 2 or 3 really good players to make the Hawks into a contender.... Bynum, Chris Paul, Al Jefferson, Pekovic, Tyreke, Harden

but i did say, months ago that Joe's contract is movable, Lin would get offered max, Hibbert would get offered max, and that Zaza and picks for Dwight and JRich would be the best offer the Magic could get, because Zaza and picks is way better than Varejao and picks :lol:

so yeah, im right alot more time then the average person on this board like yourself :lol:

Varejao is a better player than Zaza. Clevelands picks will be better than Atlanta's picks.

Surely the NBA would veto a deal like this. To me this is LAL stacking the deck. Just because they have some of the highest revenues in the league doesn't mean they can spend like the Yankees and get whatever they want. It just makes this league less interesting in my opinion.

The question we should be asking is should we get in on this trade and get bynum. Bynum would be a great consolation prize if we can't get howard. We can give Orlando a better package than cleveland can I would give them josh smith, Jeff Teague, and 2 1st round picks. Bynum and horford would be one of the best frontcourt in the NBA. But will u give the max contract to someone who has never played a full 82 game season. Base on his talent alone I would have to give I would have to do that.

Looks like D12 is definitely headed to LA. Seeing him at the Dodgers game with Magic Johnson pretty much sums it up. As Dirtybird stated, on to plan B. I wonder how Howard going to LA will effect Josh Smith's future.

Varejao's contract eats up $10 million every year and his injuries make it impossible to trade for even a low first round pick

Irvin and Bynum get the Cavs into the playoffs, Howard on the Hawks is also in the playoffs, but Atlanta has Houston's picks which is going to turn out to be a mid 1st round pick

i don't know why you think Varejao is Bill Russel, because he is not :lol:

...... Varejao's contract totally takes the Magic out of the picture of offering a big or max contract to a guy like Harden, Tyreke, or Pek.

Zaza and Harris' contracts not only allow the Magic to tank to get Shabazz or Noel but also allows them to overpay for Harden or Tyreke

with Varejao it makes the Magic a bubble team and out of the top 5 pick, with no hope of getting a free agent in 2013

1: A team option means they don't have to pick up the option. Meaning they would pay Anderson for ONE season instead of paying Zaza 2 seasons. ZAZA'S CONTRACT IS POTENTIALLY MORE OFF SALARY FOR THEM. Zaza has 10 million guarenteed left on his deal, Varajao has 9.5 left guarenteed.

2. So your scale is Zaza - Bill Russell with nothing in between? Varajo is a better player than Zaza. Simple as that. Zaza is not a good basketball player. He is a serviceable backup and thats it. He is honestly overpaid for his abilities in the NBA. Saying a guy is better than him doesn't mean they are an allstar, they just mean they are better.

3. So Varajao sucks...until you get to the bottom where he is no longer injury prone and is the difference between a lottery team and a bubble team.

So just to summarize, you think I am stupid because you think a trade for a worse player with worse picks for more money after next season on the books is a better deal.

I also find it hilarious that Bynum, who has been injured more often than Varajo, automatically makes one of the worse teams in the league last year a playoff team.

More like I would rather pay for one and he would be more versatile offensively. Throw a big or strong enough body like Jefferson, Hibbert, Asik, or even Bynum at times at Howard and he can become less effective on offensive. Heck, we threw pesky defenders like Collins and Zaza at Howard and was effective.
