Fesenko working out, thoughts?

I like him as a backup, seemed to play solid if not amazing defense. We seem to have a full 15 - I'd be in favor of cutting Ismail Muhammed (sorry dude) for him, given how thin we are at C.

I believe Muhammed aint make it past the first cuts along with "Squeaky" Johnson. The last two cuts were Damion James and James Anderson, the former being the most "shocking" but he was the 15th man on the roster and his spot seems to of been made to look at guys like Fesenko.

Fes is a stiff, a fat one at that but Petro seems to be a stiff with a bad back for now and Zaza is also labored with groin, calf/ankle issues. I guess a lil more insurance in that department is needed.

Hopefully this waives Petro. I think Fes is a guy who just needs minutes. Seen a few games when he was with the Jazz still and was solid to great on defense and rebounding. Not giving you much on offense and can pick up fouls quick, but size and situational defense is only need for as long as his 6 fouls can last. If they can last about 25 mpg, then we may have our center. I think we should sign him just because we need his size. Indy has Hibbert, Philly has Bynum, and Brooklyn has Lopez. All 3 are on a playoff team.

We need size and some decent defense. Besides that I don't think he's worse than Petro. I mean, who is?

Apparently, the kid's another Eddy Curry. When I see things like a Chicago Tribune article (3 weeks ago) saying "Fesenko getting serious about career" I wonder where his head is. Truth is, I've always been confused as to how a 7'1" Center who weighs 280 and has a 9'4" reach and 7'4" wingspan - AND EVERYONE SAYS IS ATHLETIC - could fail to at least become a starter.

Eh, Petro is proof of that old NBA adage that you can have a career in basketball if you're 7 feet tall and healthy. Maybe Fesenko's healthy...

Sorry, my cynical side peeked out for a moment. I'm the guy who's always screaming to take shots at acquiring a big man. For that, I'm glad we're giving him a shot. Maybe he can grow up into a starter (or productive bench player).
