Player of the Game

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:00 am

The win streak stands at 5 and the Hawks are now 8-4

Al Horford (4)
Kyle Korver (2)
Josh Smith (1)

Notes: Zaza Pachulia for a second straight night did a little bit of everything and his contribution went beyond his already impressive numbers, he had 19 points on 7-9 shooting and had a team high 12 rebounds; Jeff Teague is blossoming into an elite playmaker as he gets double digit assists for a second straight night with 11, he also had 19 points on 7-14 shooting, very impressive indeed; Josh played Small Forward and was effective at his adapted position, he had 17 points and shot 7-9 from the field!! He resisted the urge to take stupid jump shots and it payed dividends; Lou was a major spark off the bench, leading the second unit with 18 points, he also racked up 5 assists one of them being a wonderful pass to Al for an and one layup at the very end of the half.

Just missed the cut:
Anthony Morrow: he had only 9 points on 3-8 shooting, (unimpressive numbers to say the least) but he did contribute in the first quarter when given the chance, he started a rally that ended up being an 18-0 run for us into the 2nd quarter

What I'd like to see: Despite Josh's wonderful shooting night he only had 2 rebounds, now he was at SF and wasn't in the game much due to the blowout but I'd like to see more than only 2 rebounds for Josh; I'd like to see Al hit a free throw, again he only shot one tonight but he needs to get out of this FT slump; I'd like to see Korver hit his open shots, on more than one occasion Korver had an open 3 and missed it, we're paying him 5 mil this season for him to hit open shots, he needs to do what he's payed to do.

Teague is turning into Matty Ice on the B-Ball court...running the offense pretty efficiently. Starting AND finishing games like a pro.

At this rate, we just forget CP3 and focus on building around JT0. He's been looking a little Tony Parkeresque out there...

I'm loving Teague right now, like I said he's turning into an elite playmaker but I gave this one to big Z, his heart and hustle is something that's made him a fan favorite. My dad was shocked when I told him that Zaza dominated today and led our team in points and rebounds, I told him he had better get use to it cause Zaza is forreal.

Tough for Teague but I gotta give it to Zaza. That Griffin reverse dunk on him seemed to of lit all kinds of fire under Zaza because he nearly got all of his stats right after that point with both DJ and Blake struggling beyond that point.
