So John Jenkins still remembers how to shoot.
JJ2 led all scorers with 22 points on an efficient 8-13 FGs from the field. He's starting at SG and is clearly one of the top offensive options on the team.
I'm personally in favor of D Ferry (and L Drew) sending our rookies to the D-League. We have a glut at SG and enough 3-pt shooters to spread the floor. There's just not enough PT to go around.
I do find the timing odd, though, with, Korver still out and Morrow questionable.
But we have (surprisingly) a top team in the conference, a HC working to keep his job, and a need to remain competitive to attract top Free Agents next summer. Playing rookies an extended amount of time is probably not in the best interest of the team. Especially with a plethora of better options ahead of him on the depth chart. (Korver, Louis, Morrow)
But seeing JJ2 step in and put up big numbers in his debut with limited practice time, is definitely encouraging.
Mike Scott was there, also: 7pts, 2 rebs, 2 stls, 3 fouls, 3 turnovers.
Thoughts?

The best teams in the league all heavily utilize the D-League so their young guys get playing time. I'm in favor of that as well.

Re: Jenkins scores big in NBDL Debut
Jenkins has a skill that translates well in the NBA, namely his great shooting prowess. All he needs is to learn defensive intensity. If a man works hard enough, he can play defense, no matter what his athletic ability is. Just watch Korver: the guy has little speed or quickness but he works on defense. His defense is just good enough to keep him in games.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
