Player of the Game

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Thu Dec 6, 2012 3:58 am

Wonderful showing on national TV against an up and coming team and it feels good, we're 10-5 now

Al Horford (5)
Kyle Korver (2)
Josh Smith (1)
Zaza Pachulia (1)

Notes: Al Horford was a beast tonight, 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 steals, he had his way with the Nuggets big men tonight and hit a huge go ahead jumper with 1 minute left in a tie game; Josh Smith was also a beast tonight, he took some questionable shots in the 3rd but he was a master facilitator making passes and handling the rock with ease, Smoove finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds, 2 of those points came from a nasty dunk on a fast break with less than 24 seconds left, it was an and 1; Lou Williams was absolutely clutch with his Free Throws, last season we lost so many games at the free throw line in the 4th, not with Lou, the 4th quarter is his time. Sweet Lou had 16 off the bench and had a team high 6 assist; Ivan Johnson did nothing special on the stat sheet but he fought with and took away rebounds from Faried, he wasn't gonna get bullied and won the rebounding battle against the Manimal.

Just missed the Cut: Zaza had 11 off the bench and 7 rebounds

What I'd like to see: You know what, I'm not even gonna criticize tonight, it was an exceptional performance, well done men.

Side Note: I won't be making Goat of the game anymore, noone seems to be voting so I'll only do player of the game

I appreciate all the work you put into these, ATLBoy. I would say just reserve the Goat of the Game for bad losses. Instead of every game. I just aways feel guilty voting Josh Goat of the Game every damn time. :)

My player of the game goes to AL. Dude is a freaking rock. Model of consistency. I'd have been heartbroken had we traded him for one season of the Dwightmare.

It's so easy to forget what he brings to the table every game. i think we all did last season after his injury.

We need a post scorer. A dependable post option to help down the stretch of close games. Louis can't do it every game.

Oh, and Larry Drew really deserves to at least be considered for Player of the Game. If he can be the goat in a loss, he can be POG in a win....

Our game plans lately have been pretty top notch. And his substitution patterns are a lot less frustrating than early in the season.

I hate sportscenter. Hawks win the game but the entire highlight is devoted to Ty Lawson. Can AL or Josh get a little love Geesh...

I agree with this but it still ticks me off that he cost us a game or two early and then he gets praise from Magic on the pre-game show. Drew's sub patterns are definitely improving but there was no excuse for some of his decisions early in the season.

Horford gets player of the game individually but this one was a team effort on pure hustle tonight.

They will easily forget that Lawson cost the Nuggets the game when he dribbled off his own foot. No ATL teams ever get respect. The Falcons are 11-1 and many people consider them the 4th best team in the NFC.

Good idea man, alright I'll do goat of the game for really bad losses.

I honestly was thinking of putting him in but Ivan just held Faried in check in the 4th quarter, it would've been a travesty not to have Ivan in

This is what I said in the game thread. I loved Magic as a player but I absolutely hate him as a broadcaster, he doesn't even watch our games, he still thinks that we should trade Josh for Pau, he has so much Lakers bias.
