Atlanta at Detroit

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Fri Jan 4, 2013 4:13 pm

Our Hawks are favored to win by 1 point.

Detroit is playing some good basketball and have won three straight.

I think Stuckey is questionable tonight.

Stuckey is expected to play from my understanding.

For us, Horford is dealing with a right hip contusion, but is expected to play.

One point game!

AL and Zaza and Korver putting in work this third quarter!

Once we put the game in our guards' hands and let them make plays instead of forcing everything through what's his name, we managed to come back from double digits....not a coincidence.

AL hits a huge jumper to get us back within one point with 5 seconds left....

For those that missed the game, please don't buy Jamals bs about Josh being out being the reason for the defict. The shots we missed in the first half we made in the late third and 4th. That's all.

Too little, too late. Nice comeback, though. if anyone was gonna take that last shot, it was gonna be Lou....

No surprise here we made our comeback with Josh out of the game.

The refs are just horrible, i don't know why they favor or always hand over the game to the Pistons.

in the first game, the refs had two bad calls at the very end that let the Pistons take it to over time

and in this game, they give it to the Pistons again with that bad Horford call.

Nights like this make you look plain silly. The only reason this we weren't down 30 was because of what Josh and Al were doing early. Josh didn't make Korver go 1-6 in the first half, Jenkins go 0-3, Lou go 2-5, and Teague go 1-5 in the first half. Those same guys hit some tough shots in the 4th.

Ouch, dude. Hey numbers don't lie.

Josh sat out most of the 4th quarter, and still took more FGs than any other Hawk. He leaves, and we close the deficit from 13 points to one point.
Josh was on pace to take 24 FGs this game, despite the fact he was again shooting uner 50% for the game.
Josh was the only starter with a negative +/-.
Josh took seven shots outside of the paint, making only one.

Fair enough. But Josh had a horrible 2nd quarter, going 1/5 with three missed 3-pt attempts and three turnovers, despite only playing half the quarter.

That was the quarter things got out of hand.

But maybe next game he'll remember to work from the paint and not take so many bad shots or make bad passes.

Edit: you posted the above before me

So, again...Josh made those guys miss open shots in the first half? The announcers, the radio guy, the guy in the studio all pointed out that the hawks were lucky to be down 15 after that showing by the perimeter players in the first half and only YOU blame Josh for the deficit.

Like is said, nonsense from you as always when it has something to do with Josh. As I am talking right now the postgame show is pointing out how we missed a bunch of shots in the first half that we usually make.

Okay, won't argue with it. And I give Josh credit when credit is due.

But he's not a pure scorer and shouldn't be taking so many jumpers outside of the paint. He shouldn't be putting up threes as if he's John Jenkins. Shouldn't be taking twice as many shots as Horford. (Especially when Horford is shooting 75% from the field.)

Good battle at the end. That toe tapper was a killer, I thought it was inconclusive and thus wouldn't be overturned but apparently the refs had a secret x-acto vision camera.

i agree

first of all, it was inconclusive

second of all, it makes out for a better game, and untilmatly gives fans what they want, a competitive basketball game

thirdly, nobody would have complained if it was called a 3, not even the pistons because it was so inconclusive

lastly, makes the game now about the refs and not the players, it takes the players out of the equations and now we just have judgement calls made by a third party, and now the refs look stupid and everybody has a legit reason to complain and it takes away the creditability of the win.

horrible, just horrible call by the refs, just like in the first game against the pistons, when they called goal tended on Josh, when the replay clearly showed he didn't touch the ball.
