Imagine how good they'd be with Joe Johnson?

That's a well-oiled machine.
Jeff Teague absolutely tore it up for my fantasy team this month.

They wouldn't be putting up those stats because all 3 would be standing around watching Joe dribble for 18 seconds before pulling up for a jumper.

Funny how the Horford as a top 2 Center thread gets conveniently closed after his career night
Real GM and all the Hawks haters better hope the Hawks show incompetence and stop featuring Al Horford or they will look more and more foolish for denying Al Horford as a top 2-3 Center

Re: Hawks Big 3 stats for February
BTW, as far as the Hawks Big 3, all the potential in the world is in those 3 players. It's a matter of consistency
And adding one final piece could put them over the top. That piece wouldn't even have to be an elite player.
Say an Andre Iguodala type as a 4th option could put the Hawks over the top

You are free to open another one on the PC board. That was the reason for being closed. Again, the Hawks aren't really featuring Horford as the go to guy. He's moving well without the ball and getting out in transition as well as hitting from mid range.

Re: Hawks Big 3 stats for February
Horford's a pretty good defender too. Had that nice play in the playoffs at the end of game 5 stopped Rondo one on one last play of the game. If Hawks did manage to nab Howard and he got healthy and stopped being a whiner a Howard/Horford front court would be something.

We still need a premier wing scorer to be an elite team, but I'll take it.

Horford has been doing all those things you mentioned for a while. The difference is they have given him the ball on the block a few more times per game which leads to a few more baskets per game.
And if he got a couple more touches per game he could easily lead all Centers in scoring.
His season average has gone up to 17 PPG as a result and if he continues to get the ball that average could go up a couple more points by the end of the year

Jeff Teague/Devin Harris
Lou Williams/John Jenkins
Andre Iguodala/Korver
Josh Smith/ Ivan Johnson
Al Horford / Zaza Pachulia
It all depends on the progression of Jeff Teague. As much as Horford has room to grow, Jeff Teague when he is assertive he really dictates the Hawks ceiling
With a wing like Iguodala in the mix who can reasonably defend as well as score and slash, the Hawks would have enough fire power to give any team fits
No elite player but enough very good ones where they could Pistons their way to a title run

Re: Hawks Big 3 stats for February
AL's February shot chart thru 2/26:

Al is actually taking more shots now than ever. He’s taking almost 15 shots per game this month, compared to just a shade over 13 that he was taking through January. His usage rate for this month (22.9%) is a career-high for any month in Horford’s career.
However, Horford’s increase in usage hasn’t negatively effected other Hawks. In fact, you could argue that it’s been responsible for the opposite; Josh Smith’s usage for this month has been 24.46% (down from 27% in the first three months), and he’s had his most efficient month of the season by shooting over 50% and averaging 19 points, 10 boards, and five assists.

Replace Lou with Kevin Martin (a player who's a threat even without the ball in his hands) and you might be on to something.

Exactly what I've been saying. It wasn't just random increase in production. The Hawks have gone to Horford more often this month
THe question is do they have enough sense to continue to do this or will his usage go down

To say that Al isn't being featured over this stretch is akin to saying Reggie Miller was never featured as a Pacer.

Under this new San Antonio system..... can Al become Karl Malone (or Alonzo Mourning)?

Let's take a look at the numbers:
AL's FG attempts this season: 13.7 per game
AL's FG attempts in Feb: 15.4 per game
AL's FG attempts during the last 7 games: 16.5 per game
Josh's FG attempts this season: 15.8 per game
Josh's FG attempts in Feb: 15.9 per game
Josh's FG attempts during the last 7 games: 16.4 per game
Teague's FG attempts this season: 11.9 per game
Teague's FG attempts in Feb: 12.8 per game
Teague's FG attempts in the last 7 games: 13.1 per game
AL & Josh are getting the same number of shots during this torrid stretch. But as a whole, the 'Big 3' are taking more shot attempts overall.
AL is just hitting his shots at higher clip than Josh or Teague. Which he always does.
