Hawks at Miami

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:53 pm

Heat are at 18 and counting...

Josh is doing that thing where he shoots brick after brick from 17 feet out. (Already 0-4)

Not much to see here. May as well get ready for LA, or maybe the next game after that.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

NBATV analysts are terrible.

I don't think they're even watching the game. Just having a casual conversation with PJ Brown.

I can't even tell what's happening...turnovers, phantom foul calls.

Miami is the worse rebounding team in the league. They have a 24-14 rebounding edge against us in the first half.

We need a Center.

First shot of the 2nd half:

Josh bricks a 3pointer with 15 seconds left on the shot clock...

Another behind-the-back pass from Josh that results in a turnover.

The referees in this game are pretty horrendous. 20 FTA to 6 FTA in favor of miami.

But we don't put enough pressure on them by driving to the paint. Too much settling for long Jumpers.

We need a wing capable of getting to the hole. Seems like Devin and teague should be in the game together.

We're at least doing a better job of being aggressive and going to the basket.

And we're in a zone defense which seems to be helping with Wade out.

But Teague and Horford are hurt. Might be getting to the point where we need to start preserving the starters for tomorrow's game.

I hate the Miami Heat. I hate how they get every call. I hate how the other team is called for touch fouls. I hate how foul freedom has turned Wade into a bully. I hate how James cries for every call he doesn't get.

But what I really hate is the way the refs treat those no-talent bums who are not part of the big 3. I'm watching Haslem "setting picks" by using 2-handed pushes. Battier is mugging whichever man he covers. They are grabbing, pushing, bumping. They are fouling.

But the foul count is 21 fouls against us and only 10 on them.

I love basketball; it's the only reason I follow this abomination called the NBA. I love watching the finest athletes and most skilled players in the world on the court. But watching the Heat (and the Thunder) is killing me. Treating no-talent bums like kings is making a mockery of the NBA. They know they can get away with it and, shame on them, they are playing it to the hilt, swaggering and laughing.

I'm finished. Wade goes up, no one touches him, foul on Korver. Korver slams the ball to the floor.

They don't even pretend.

I'm with you. The NBA is pretty terrible to watch, largely because of the referees preference for stars.

The Spurs are the saving grace most nights, as they prove a team of smart, unselfish no name players can regularly defeat star-laden teams.

But the product is broken.

I've seen 5 Heat games in the past two weeks and it's horrendous how much they are biased towards Miami.

It's not the fouls in favor of the stars, much as I dislike that: it's the favorable treatment of the others. If I have to hear how Mike Miller is a "gritty defender" or Chalmers is a "game changer" or Haslem is a "valuable piece" ... or hear any of the other bums being bragged on, I'll bust. Do they think we can't tell they're no-talent bums? Do they think we don't remember when they played on other teams and are treated like the bums they are? Do they think we believe they turned into good players just because they put on Heat jerseys?

Maybe the NBA has decided to drive knowledgeable fans away. Maybe they want idiots only to watch. Maybe they think they'll get more money from them.

TBQH I think you guys are way overblowing the reffing in this game. We didn't shoot free throws because no one drove to the basket and drew contact. They did. We also turned over the ball unnecessarily at least a dozen times on frankly just awful passes.

This game reiterates the need for us to acquire a slasher this offseason.

Agenda's showing (slasher). No, they mugged with impunity, resulting in turnovers.

And how's a slasher gonna help our passing?

we definitely need a slasher. I don't want to hear anyboy else complain that a potential signee can't shoot the ball. We have a team of jump shooters and no one who can consistently get to the rim or take a defender off the dribble.

There has to be diversity, variation n talent.

we didn't drive and didn't get calls, but Heat got some questionable calls all night. Wade injured Teague by chest bumping him on his way to the hoop.

Last week JJ Barea got ejected for making the exact same foul on Ray Allen. Refs give Heat benefit of the doubt on a ton of questionable calls.
