Blazers v Hawks

Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver, DeShawn Stevenson, Josh Smith and Al Horford will start Friday night.

Drew said he is concerned with the Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge and J.J. Hickson.

“They are coming off a good win last night in Chicago. Lillard has really blossomed into a really, really good point guard. For a rookie, he has done a phenomenal job. I thought we did a good job on him up at their place. Aldridge is always tough with his length and his ability to shoot the ball. We have to do a good job of keeping them off the glass with Hickson. They are a team that if you don’t look out they can really sneak up on you and hurt you in a lot of areas."

NOTE: The Trail Blazers did not arrive at Philips Arena until 6:10 p.m. after getting stuck in traffic due to an accident on Spring Street.

LMAO

I'm just hoping we keep Hickson under 15 rebounds tonight.

(And that the Wheeler HS grad enjoys playing in 'The Highlight Factory' and decides to sign with us this summer!)

Close game at Halftime. Wesley and Aldridge putting in work for POR.

Balanced scoring for Atl.

Rebounding pretty even.

Damian Lillard is pretty good.

Jeff Teague made some pretty crucial turnovers in crunchtime.

Josh is not a SF. (Did he get booed down the stretch after missing yet another long jumper?)

To think that we could've traded Jump Shootin' Josh for the pick that ended up being Lillard. Ferry took over as GM a few months later than he should've

Teague took over and then let the game go away too.

What a game. Hawks have it in hand, then they didn't. Would I be a hater to point out that Smith got a foul call each time he went inside (except for one) but missed every shot he took outside in the 4th? He took one from just inside the 3 pt arc, while I was yelling, "Don't you do it!" and then 2 other 3s, just for the heck of it. So what if the game was tight at the moment?

And what was wrong with Teague down the stretch? He was sleepwalking in the 4th.

Getting used to Horford manning up. 2 of him and I'd take my chances in any war.

Josh and those three's and a crucial missed chippy really hurt and Teague made a couple of bad turnovers. They were disconnected in the 4th quarter. Tough loss knowing that 4 game trip coming up next week. Boston losing so far so all's not lost.

I heard that. It sounded like one person, though.

Josh is just so unclutch , how many time have we seen him miss a crucial lay up that could have changed the game? He's a great stat filler but it's just the moments when you need your most vet player and All-Star snub every year to come thru more than not. And he seems to fail in those moments more than not, hell why not throw up another long Ill-advised 3 with Korver's hands stretched out pleading for the ball in the waning moments. Why not? :sigh:

Also notice he's a gazer, what I mean by that is he watches the action happen a lot and then reacts. On rebounds he has lazy reactions, guys root him from under the basket to get a lot of big boards consistently. He doesn't establish himself until it's way too late. 94-89 he misses a jumper....94-89 he misses a layup under the basket and proceeds to argue he was fouled, I didn't see the foul. 97-89 he takes a long 3 pointer and the game was written by then. That stretch was crucial and he more than not seems to perform like that when we really need him. Anybody dis agree?

Agreed. Josh comes up small at the biggest moments, and it usually has more to do with decision-making. i won't fault him for the missed layup, but all those long jump shots....it's ridiculous. The whining to the officials instead of getting back on defense. The behind the back passes in crunch time that end up as turnovers.

Nine years in and we're still complaining about the same things.

I feel your pain, I'm sure we all agree now that we should've made that deal with The Nets

It's not 'hating' if it's the truth.

Anybody else notice that The Atlanta Hawks official Twitter feed has nicknamed AL Horford 'BOSS'?

Is there a way to vote for a new nickname....this one seems kind of lame.
