GSW trade proposal
Some people on the GSW board feel David Lee is an outstanding player--good/efficient offensive player, good passer for a big guy, great leader and tremendous rebounder--but lacks in the defensive skills department. And his torn hip flexor didn't seem to have put him out completely, but he may need some time to heal--in which we feel will and be back to normal when next season starts.
What are your guys' thoughts on Horford, and if we entertain the idea of shipping Lee + Klay Thompson for Horford (and possibly including a future 1st round pick?)?

Re: GSW trade proposal
We heart Horford around these parts. For that trade, you get a solid....meh.
We have no one under contract, and that draft pick won't be a lottery pick for a few years.
On the court....a fair trade. Though it benefits GSW more than us.
Off the court, Horford is our All Star and face of the Franchise. We trade him without getting a top player back, we might as well sell the franchise.
So....meh.

Pretty much.
What would you want for Ezeli?
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Horford, haha.
Lee + Ezeli for Horford?
It looks like you guys are probably going to be in rebuild mode since most of your players are at the end of their contracts.

But you haven't looked at Horford's contract...

Re: GSW trade proposal
Lee is 30 years old. I forget how old Al is, but he's younger then that. I think they are near the same level, and this trade is fine, but I wouldn't lose sleep over not accepting it. It wouldn't make us much better off.

How about I make a counter-offer.
You pick what we give you and we get Curry.
We will give you Horford, Lou and our draft for the next 5 years. We will also throw in some cash if you need it.
Kid is such a stud. Would love to be able to watch every game he plays.

Re: GSW trade proposal
Klay and extras for Hoford?...... definite maybe!
If the Hawks can get Dwight, then Dwight, Korver, and Klay on the same team could be scary good. Lee is trash though, and not as good as Josh, but i could see a team like the Thunder or Kings giving up a draft pick for Lee, which Ferry than can use.
Dwight/Josh/Korver/Klay/TBA.... and then a lottery pick
I wouldn't do the trade, but if it did happen, i wouldn't be upset either. If Ferry cannot get Dwight, and Lee can be traded to a 3rd team for a lottery pick, and that pick could turn into Zeller or Len, then that is a pretty decent return for Horford.

PRECISELY!
Especially for a guy who only shot 42% this season (KLAY). While scoring the same as Horford, but with fewer rebounds, assists, blocks.
Again, Horford is a 2x All Star likely to be named to his 2nd All NBA team.
He is our best player AND THE FACE OF OUR FRANCHISE.
Yet, you want to throw that away for a guy with less production?

Re: GSW trade proposal
I love Klay, and think David Lee is underrated, but I'm not trading Horford to GS unless Steph Curry comes back.
How about S&T Josh Smith for Klay and the corpse of Richard Jefferson?

You don't trade a big for a guard, but its a teeeny bit unfair to compair block/rebound numbers of our starting Center with a starting 2?

Perhaps, but it's just further evidence that Horford is MASSIVELY more productive than Klay in every facet.
It's generally unfair to compare assist numbers between a center and Guard, yet AL was superior to Klay in that aspect as well.

You're foolish to compare Horford to Kwame or Klay Thompson to Kobe
