Missed this before, but just saw that Bynum will not work out for teams interested in signing him. ooookkaaayyyy
For one, small moment, I had started thinking about what offer to give him. Shame on me, 'cuz I know better.

This just screams that he is still injured and knows it will kill his value.

Yeah... it certainly lowers the price where I'd be willing to take a risk on him.

I have a bad feeling the Hawks are gonna offer him a ton of money. I hope I'm wrong.

If we were to approach Bynum, I'd hope we could offer him a 4 year deal where the 2nd and 3rd years are option years for us and the 4th year is an option year for him. Maybe he's just about the money. In that case, we'd get 3 good years out of him - he'd drag himself onto the court to get paid in years 1 and 2, and to impress suitors in year 3. If he walks before year 4, Nogueira's on the way by then.

Don't be too quick to write off Bynum as he is twenty-five, a beast when healthy and, if so, can jump the rebuild quicker than almost any draft pick. He is likely to take the most guaranteed money in year one and the Hawks have a lot to offer if this free agent period plays out just right. Right after talent evaluation and negotiation skill, the ability of a GM to take some educated risks that reward make for greatness. Find a GM that doesn't throw luck regarding injury in to the mix of their success and I'll show you a lousy one.

Throughout his career, he missed almost 50% of eligible games due to injury.
He is lazy, immature, selfish, money-hungry.
Philly took a risk on him and he set their franchise back years, got the coach and GM fired, cost them a top young Center, and infuriated the front office & coaching staff.

He's played in 65.88235294117647% of eligible games.
With the right swords hanging over his head (for an example, see above), he might be worth a try. Remember, if he doesn't work out, we still have bought time for Nogueira to grow.
He's my 4th option, after Howard, Asik and Pekovic, but he's an option.

He (and Oden on a different level, certainly smarter but not healthier) has to be an option.
There is not enough C like that to not consider them at all.

Roger that. Should have typed 40% of games missed due to injury...which is still a lot. He's missed 38.7 % of his games, played a full season just once.
