Chandler Parsons

Post#1 » by davefmcl » Sat Jul 6, 2013 12:08 am

IF we agreed to S&T Josh Smith to Houston, why can't we demand Chandler Parsons? He plays SF, the one position where we don't have a young talent.
What would it take to get him? Would we have to agree to take Lin and Asik? Or add something like some picks to it?

We can demand anyone we want - and I'm sure we'll ask for him. I expect HOU to refuse, however.

We don't want Lin and I don't think we'll have to take him. THAT'S Morey's demand - which we'll refuse.

However, I want Asik. He's like getting an offensive line - we need the flashy players but we also need the guys who do the grunt work.

My key question is "what would it take to get Parsons?"
Would taking Lin's deal on be enough? Do we have to send more second round picks, and lottery protected first? What?

Do you really think Parsons is such a budding star that he would merit such expenditures? See, I don't. I see him as a good player but that's it. He's a really good offensive player but he's not enough of a lockdown defender to ever be a superstar. And notice I didn't say he's a great offensive player.

To answer your question: I suppose we'd have to add an unprotected 2014 pick in our deal with HOU to get them to send Parsons. He's cheap and good.

Zero chance Parsons will be traded. He was in the party that met with Howard for the Rockets.
