The Dallas Mavericks have decided to shelve their plan to sign Devin Harris after an exam revealed that Harris has a dislocated toe, according to sources close to the situation.
Harris will undergo surgery to repair the dislocation later this month.
The Mavericks remain interested in signing Harris, sources said, but will wait until the start of the regular season to see how Harris recovers from surgery.
Let's sign Harris to mentor Dennis for 2 years $9 million.
We limit his minutes and don't rush him back before he's ready. Between Lou, Dennis, Mack and Devin we should have PG covered.
Dallas has since signed Monta Ellis.

Let's get in on the ground floor of this amazing opportunity.
Bringing back Devin negates the need to bring back Teague or sign Jennings. And leaves us plenty of money to sign a Center.

The problem here though is he is injured and will continue on having problems and not contribute enough. It might be a decent option to help set us up cap wise for next season, but I see it as a week consolation.

Is a dislocated toe that serious of a injury?

^ You can run but you can't stop well. He could play offense with it but I don't see any way in the world he could play defense.

NO, Devin Harris has been so injury prone the last 5 years its deplorable. WAS a great talent, but hes not worth it anymore.
Rather throw Shroeder in right now

Even with 4 months to heal and rehab?!?
And Schroeder's just a baby. Needs time to acclimate to America, to the NBA and to hit the weight room. Plus a rookie PG with a rookie HC could be disastrous for both. Especially with no one on our team capable of creating their own shot.
We need a vet PG and center to help ease the transition of our foreign born rookies.

I loved Harris games when he first came into the NBA. So fast and skilled, a fast break machine, not anymore. He's very injury prone and if we are really trying to tank, and get Dennis plenty of minutes, signing him just doesn't make a lot of sense.
