If the Hawks sign Oden.....then....

Post#1 » by hawksman1970 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:42 pm

would all of a sudden give us a crazy front court......which i believe one of Horford or Millsap is going to move....

Horford can get more on the market than Millsap imo.......but i believe alot more teams like Millsap's skill set more......

Horford or Millsap can get you two good players......possibly a SF for sure and a 1st rounder or another piece like a SG as well.....Millsap and Horford both have a nice affordable contracts as well....

Depending on Oden to be an everyday starter is shortsighted and destined to fail. There is a reason he's been out of the league for years and has never completed a full season. He has to be a backup who plays limited minutes in certain games.

Think 20 mpg, no back to back games, no long road trips.

You start leaning on Oden heavily, you'll end his career for good this time.

Our frontcourt rotation is still based on AL, Brand and Milsap. Bebe, Oden and Antic will cover mop up duty.

yea lol I dunno why some people on here think he will ever be a full time starting C or anywhere near the caliber player he was coming out of college. he has had multiple injuries in each knee.

He will be HEAVILY restricted. I dont even think he will play 20 mins a game. More like 10-15.

^He's a prospect - a low-risk, high-return gamble. What if he makes a total comeback in 3-4 years?

So long as you don't spend too much . . .

We would have to be the highest bidder to get Oden, and I don't see DF making this play.

DF appears to be in no hurry to bring in anyone of significance.

I think Pero Antic and Demarre Carroll would beg to differ.

Interestingly enough, the belief now is that Oden could end up choosing a team that is rebuilding for his comeback so that there is “less pressure”.

Looks like Greg ignored the "no pressure" scenario and signed with the front running Miami Heat.

Hope he enjoys his time on the bench next to Joel Anthony...
