Unfortunate news. I would throw a pun in there, but I'll leave that alone.

Unfortunately Shaw has signed with the McNuggets.

No need to let Coach Bud go because of DUI charges. He'll still be a fantastic coach.

It's all right for he's gonna feel guilty and redeem it by proving his coaching ability on the court.

If theres drugs as is being reported, he needs to be fired.

Sorry, 3:45AM on a THURSDAY 3 months before the season starts? What an embarrassing hire. Guy hasnt even started his tenure and has made a fool of himself.

He has no political capital.

Id fire him personally. Hire lionel Hollins.

I'm so disillusioned right now; say what you will about Drew and Woody. They kept their failures on the court.

1 Glass of wine at 915, arrested at 1030.

Bonded at 3:45, went directly to Piedmont Hospital for a blood test:

"While at the jail, after consulting with an attorney by telephone, he immediately volunteered to take both a breathalyzer and also requested that a blood alcohol test be performed. His request for testing was refused. Immediately upon his release on bond, Coach Budenholzer went directly to Piedmont Hospital where his blood was tested at the earliest opportunity, albeit several hours after his arrest. The official report from the hospital blood test revealed that his blood alcohol concentration was less than .01, well below the legal limit of .08."

typical DUI strategy. They teach you to ALWAYS refuse a Breathalyzer if you have been drinking. but 1 glass of wine ? Cmon, he obviously had more than that.

So producing the bar tab at this point is out of the question?

Let's get to the real story because its being dressed down very quickly.

1st, something for people to note: if you refuse the breathlyzer, etc, then the police will basically throw the book at you. This is why he had like 5 DUI charges with some of them being for drugs. The officer was basically saying "I think you're on something but I can't prove it what it is, so I'll put everything on here it could be and let the DA sort it out".

2nd, there's something to be said about society here in terms of where our lawmakers are taking us and where our priorities are in what is being reported in media outlets. I have some thoughts, but the more I'm thinking on them, the more I'm realizing they simply aren't coherent enough to put into a forum like this...

If he had one glass of wine with a meal, then he's a victim of a gross overreaction on the part of the police officer. The 0.1 reading on his breathalizer makes me think he's telling the truth.

Question: did he pass the 3 sobriety tests that the officer gave him?

Who cares honestly? Should never put himself in this kind of situation. He is a grown man, no?

He was arressted at 1030pm, he did the sobriety test sometime after 4am and before 7am.

6-7 hours is enough to filter alcohol out.

If he refused breathalyzer, then he knew he was in trouble

I'm just saying - as a teetotaler myself on religious grounds - some people have a glass of wine with their meal. It's not illegal, even to drive afterwards.

Besides, just being pulled over means little. I was once pulled over at 3AM while returning home from vacation with my family by an officer who had just walked out of the police station, saw me and jumped into his car. He didn't like the way I looked and asked if I had been drinking. He told me I was driving too close to the center line. I asked him if I had crossed over the line and he said no, I was just too close. My wife was so mad, she wanted to make a federal matter out of it. If I had taken one little sip of wine, I would have been in a world of trouble.

It happens.
