Mack has been getting minutes while Schroeder's getting DNPs. Anyone know why?

You can see from some of the comments above that Schröder was suspended for a game after delivering a nut shot on DeMarcus Cousins. Something happened during his suspension. We don't know what, but if you compare his stats from before his suspension to afterward, it's very telling. You can look up the game logs, but in effect, his overall game has taken a nosedive and he is losing trust in the coach. This isn't the time to lose that trust with Lou coming back either.knicksfan87 wrote:knicks fan here, but also german. So naturally i am interested in Dennis. Its pretty tough for that young guy to be benched the entire game against the knicks. is there more to it or is dennis just playing bad right now?
from my perspective in the first matchup against the knicks he looked to be good at playmaking but wasnt aggressive on offense whatsoever. I never really had a feeling he wanted to score a basket, but instead always kept looking for the pass. On defense he seemed slow on the block and didnt quite contest the shots.
what i liked though was, that he was very communicative with his teammates.
any chances he will play some minutes in the upcoming games?

I don't think that anyone believes he's a lost cause or anything. We still see him as a valuable piece going forward, maybe even the starting PG depending. He will see minutes, but I can't think they'll be as regular as he was getting pre-suspension either.

Yeah, sorry, I think the NYK game in particular was just a one game thing that the coach reacted to. Mack was having the game of his life and Jenkins has barely played all year so we want to get him minutes in garbage time. I can't think any here would look any deeper than it being one game where there were other factors keeping Schröder on the bench (including a bad spate of games where Coach may have been thinking about giving him a night or 2 off to get his head straight) than any greater trend.
