We're playing good basketball. Teague (even though he's obviously hurting from the rib injury) and Mack are running a good game. Mack's grown on me: he's no longer the ballhogger without a clue but is actually a solid backup point. Millsap owned Blake Griffin, although, when the Clippers switched Griffin onto Horford to get him away from Millsap, Horford started scoring on him, too. Griffin's just not a very good defender. Millsap scored 25 and Horford 21.
Korver was near his best (6-9 from 3) and tied the all-time NBA mark for consecutive games with a 3.
We just played very good basketball and were too much for the Clippers. Too many positives to mention them all but the short of it is, we shot 51.2% from the field and 52.2% from 3 (12-23). The Clippers shot 47.0% and 21.1%. The Clippers played a physical game (without many fouls being called on them until the end - at one point, it was 20 FTs for them and 7 for us. Rathburn and Dominique were very uncomplimentary about the officiating) but we hustled and fought.
Guys, this is basketball played the right way.

Negatives? Except for a good game from Mack and strong defense from Brand, the bench was bad. Not counting Mack (he went 5-9 for 12 points and 5 assists), our bench was 3-13 from the field, didn't play a lot of minutes and didn't play much defense, either.

Great game. The biggest lesson this game has is the fact that even a team as talented as the Clippers need some time to adjust to a coach's new system. They really miss JJ Reddick. As far as the Hawks go, nice team effort, I love Millsap's efficiency. Dude's got a lot of game. He should play attacking in the paint more like he did tonight. Korver is a beast shooting that ball. I said a week or 2 ago that we need more Brand and Mack and less Ayon and Cartier. I think I was right lol

The biggest positive last night 9for me) is that the team was able to produce offensively in a very effective, efficient manner even with Teague having a subpar game.
What I HATE, though, is that all the NBA analysts/sportscasters have portrayed this as a LAC loss rather than a showcase win for our Hawks team...

DID he? I know he's ailing a bit but I thought he and Mack ran a pretty good offense. And look at the job they did on Chris Paul defensively. When I read the Spurs fans' comments about their team, I was struck by their criticism that their guys sometimes go into "hero mode" and try to win the game alone. It's not an either-or situation; there's an offense to run here. Let the right guy for the situation take the shot. Last night, Millsap had a huge advantage over Griffin. If we hadn't gone to him all night, that'd have been a mistake.

Great team win for us last night. Korver and Millsap in particular stepped it up. I still get surprised by how fluid Millsap's ball-handling skills are... much smoother than Josh's.

Paul Millsap is the real deal, he just went to work on Blake Griffin in the paint last night and demonstrated some great big man moves,; I still can't believe how cheap of a contract we got him for, score 1 for Ferry.
This team is moving in the right direction: we're playing unselfish, spurs like basketball and major props have to go to coach Bud and Danny Ferry for instilling that culture in this team. I'm also impressed with how Korver came back from a rough rib injury to hit 3s early and often, Sportsouth picked up the game against the Cavs tomorrow (which wasn't originally scheduled to be on tv), and I'm guessing it had something to do with Kyle's streak. Great team win!

Korver is due to break the consecutive 3-ptr in a game record tonite, and the Hawks are advertising about this
hence the Cavs game will be shown on TV now
Go Hawks!

Perhaps subpar was a poorly chosen word.....let's call it a game below his season averages...production wise.
I don't expect (or want) our PG to need a big night every night for us to win. It was finally nice to see other players stepping up and carrying us and JT0 not HAVE to bring it.

Millsap is a total pleasant surprise. His player efficiency is amazing right now. Did not think he was going to play better here than when he was with Jazz.

Millsap is a very good player indeed.
