We guess the Nets record over the next 17 games

The Nets are sitting at 9-19 and are about to hit the toughest part of their schedule. I think their performance during this stretch will either bury them or renew hope in the team and get them rolling for the final stretch of the season. Half of the season will be over after these games. b2b games are noted and they are currently 1-4 on b2b games so far this season.
Milw
@ Indy (b2b)
@ SAS
@ OKC
Clev
ATL
GSW
Mia
@ Tor (b2b)
@ ATL (London)
@ NYK
Orl (b2b)
Dall
@ Bos
Tor (b2b)
OKC
@ Indy (b2b)
I'm going to guess 4-13. These all look like guaranteed losses but there is a remote chance that they sneak a win in one of these. Indy x2, OKC x2, Mia, SAS, ATL x2, GSW, Dal.
They have 7 games against teams that are under .500, (Tor, Bos, NYK, Milw, Orl) but 3 of these are on back to backs. They have played 6 games against these teams so far this season and are 3-3 in those. I believe they win 2-4 of these 7.

They'll be in that 3-14, 4-13 range.

Bucks and Cavs are only likely wins in next 8 games.
Raptors are still unquestionable, that can either be win or loss, I expect them to share 1-1.
Besides for all that, Orlando seems like the only other "winnable" game, with @BOS being the only other likely.
So coincidentally, I am going with 4 wins also, whether they are the teams I mentioned or not.
2 wins seems to be the low, and 6 wins as the high. But since it is Jason Kidd as the HC, I don't expect anything above 4! But they have nothing to lose, so I think will likely still a couple big wins on these big teams who think it is a pick up game. Johnson can still light it up, and frustrated D-Will is still D-Will.

Considering the officiating we've seen for the last 2 games, I'll have to answer that BKN will win exactly as many as the NBA wants them to.
Intellectually, I know it'll never change (because this must be the way the owners want it or they'd have fired Stern years ago) but, in my heart, I dream of a better day.

Nets don't need the worst record in the league, they just need to get in the top 5 worst record. Stats or history will show that teams #3, #4, and #5 get the 1st overall pick more than teams #1 and #2.

We need them to lose as many as possible NOW, because teams give up at the end of the season, especially the tankers, but BKN will be playing for pride down the stretch.

6-11, for a 15-30 record, getting worse day by day

I did a analysis also, and if you take last 20 years, #4 has never got it, #3 and #5 have get it way more of the time than #1 and #2, and out of all the times #1 worst got it, it was just a couple times, LeBron and Howard were the last two, before that it only happened like 1 time since "modern era" aka "Stern Era .....
Only problem Nets don't own their 1st round pick, it goes to Celtics, Knicks own theirs to Nuggets.

Only problem
Nets don't own their 1st round pick, it goes to Celtics, Knicks own theirs to Nuggets.
I think you are wrong on that one (because the Hawks can always choose to swap).

We traded with the Nets 1st so we get 1st dibs. Any subsequent trade would have had to recognize our rights or it would have been voided by the league - even if it wasn't, our contract would supersede any others since ours was 1st. BRK would still have a 1st (ours if we swapped; theirs if we didn't) and that pick goes to BOS.

If Horford is out for any length of time, that'd be doubly unfortunate for us: our record would suffer and BKN could possibly earn 2 more victories (the 2 games against us).

If you are an optimistic Nets fan you can say 8-9 is possible, but I guess 5-12 is the most likely outcome.
That will mean a 14-31 record.

This is what I was thinking, we need to help our cause by beating the nets as much as possible this year.

Westbrook is now out until after the allstar game so that will give the Nets a better chance at winning their upcoming games against OKC. Hopefully we get better news with Al and Carroll.

That OKC team is still a playoff team in the West without Westbrook. BK can't handle them imo

and that, my friends, looks a lot like a turning point game for Brooklyn.

Well, even though I would not have predicted it, hey just did tonight and I am concerned that could be their wake-up call and could build confidence...after all, hey are talented!

C'mon guys. One win after a 20 point debacle a few days prior and we get nervous?
OKC without Westbrook is not a contender.

They are currently 8th in the East.
