Knicks interested in Teague

Knicks' focus leading into Thursday trade deadline is upgrading at point guard. And word is a new name intrigues them: Atlanta's Jeff Teague

There are issues if Knicks make full-on play for Teague, who has right of first refusal on any trade after Hawks matched offer sheet in July

Knicks have no draft picks right? Are we making a play for Shumpert? I cant see anyone else on their roster we would want. (outside of maybe Tyson Chandler which isnt happeneing)

I don't see what the Knicks can offer to make this trade even possible for them. They might WANT Teague, but don't think they can get him.

Shumpert or THjr.

But why trade a first round draft pick for Jeff Teague........why wouldnt the knicks just ride out TH who looks like he COULD be a really good player?

If we traded it would be a salary dump IMo

New York is one of the few teams in the league where you could say that Jeffrey is an obvious upgrade so I think this thing has legs especially considering NY's pursuit of Lowry in the past. I don't think Jeffrey would turn it down either because no offense to Atlanta but it's hard to top living in NYC especially as a millionaire plus he'd be close to Marquis again  and then most signs are pointing towards Melo staying too.

With the Lowry deal it was rumored that the Knicks had Felton, Artest or whatever he goes by now and either of Hardaway Jr. or Shumpert on the table with the contention being over the 1st rounder which I think was like 2018 or something, their closest available date. I'd take the deal and run. I think Hardaway might be off the table now so fresh off the Rising Stars game but I liked Shump coming out of GT. We'd cut Artest and Felton's deal isn't horrible to have as a backup. Ferry would be more than satisfied with the 2018 pick as it's right on the tail end of his deal.

I think Jeff carries more value than Lowry as of right now: Lowry has been playing better but Jeff is signed into a team friendly contract for the next four years. Normally I'd be opposed to dealing Jeff but I really think it'll help Schroder's development if he plays more minutes.

Dennis will replace Teague one way or another. It's looks like we get TH or Iman. I think Iman will better fit to our squad. Good d and 3pt threat. Mack/dennis - Iman - Carroll - Milsapp - Antic and Lou(i hope back to his standarts), Korver from bench can lead us to top 4 at this tanking mode east. And with young talents like Dennis and Iman, all stars Millsapp and Horford we will be more attractive to elite nba stars. İ support this move.

Sorry, but if a team goes from having a top 3 playoff seed halfway through the season, to tanking to one of the worst records in the league in a matter of weeks...I can't think of a single top Free Agent that would want to have anything to do with that organization.

My ? here is WTF happened to Shumpert? I remember when we played them at the beginning of the year I thought he was a very active defender and his numbers from 3 were excellent. Now... not so much.

At this point, I'd be asking for Hardaway+. If NYK balks, then I'd walk away from the table.

Fair point. But remember...Iman didn't stop being a talented player in a matter of months. Injuries, poor coaching, poor offensive system, low morale have affected there entire roster's performance.

If Iman's value is low right now..awesome. We just ask for more assets. It's also worth mentioning that Teague, too, is struggling right now. Having a pretty forgettable 2014.

Then there's this:

League sources say a three-team deal has also been discussed in which Jeff Teague would end up with the Raptors, while Shumpert gets routed to the Atlanta Hawks and Lowry to the Knicks. Another trade scenario has the Knicks acquiring Teague. Those conversations have only been preliminary.

Don't believe this happens for a minute.

I had a thought earlier, though. Anyone think OKC playing so well without Westbrook might consider a Horford/Teague combo package for Russ if we take Perkins off their hands?

They get depth, we get a real superstar to add to our team of over-achieving role players.

^ As valuable as Westbrook is, we couldn't do that without Adams. We'd be so small, well as small as we are now, and anyone can see how bad that is.

And there's no way the Thunder would trade Westbrook and Adams. None. Maybe Adams for a major player but never Westbrook and Adams.

Knicks are just kicking tires, they cant get anything, they have no assets.

Their best shot was trading Shumpert for Faried until Shumperts knee problems were found out

The more I read this, the more I believe it's the same Lowry-to-Knicks we've been hearing. Only now, the Knicks are saying, "Well, if TOR won't take Felton and Shumpert for Lowry, WHO will? Are the Hawks desperate enough?"

Sorry, guys. I know some will want Shumpert but he's been garbage this year. And then there's the problem - the CHRONIC PROBLEM - with his knee. And Felton is not only a mess but he's signed for this year and 2 more years. If the motivation is to give time to Mack and Schröder, how does committing to Felton for 3 years help? Do not want.

Just as TOR doesn't want Felton and Shumpert and are trying to add us, we'd have to find someone who'd take them and send us some other player.

We could get by with asking for Ibaka, Perry or (most likely) Perkins.

Perk is pretty worthless offensively, but he's a big body who's started for multiple NBA Finals Teams. (Three?)
With Muscala and Nogueira in the pipeline and a first round pick to use as well(Adreian Payne?!?), we'd have plenty of depth at the 5. Probbaly more than we have now.

But the prize is Westbrook. Summer 2015...Carroll, Millsap and Perkins all come off the cap. $20 million coming free with Russ as our franchise player. A young Rondoesque floor general to run the team, a top young coach...that team has a better shot at attracting Free Agents than the mess we had last summer.

I actually don't believe???

Why go after Teague when you have Felton, Shumpert, Udrih and Prigioni.
I think this is just B.S. Reporting because Woodson is the coach in NY. Trust me, if it weren't illegal for Drew to ask for Teague, the headlines would read: Milwaukee to trade for Teague.

I yell B.S.

Knicks fan here. I come in peace. Here's the latest report floating on our board.

Why are you guys so interested in trading Teague? He's having a nice year and his contract is not that bad.

I read this the same as you except for this piece of info: TOR may be interested in a Lowry for Teague deal. Sounds like an interesting idea in my book... especially if NYK gets a little hot under the collar with both their #1 and #2 options going off the board in the same deal.

Curious, how is Jeff Teague's defense?

I can't imagine we would be willing to take on Felton (what's the point when you have two young pgs who are the reason you are considering trading Teague). Shumpert is a good defender but he has no offensive game.
