We're getting our rear ends kicked.
Down 17 after one quarter. We shot 29% in the first. Paul is 1-7. Seems like he could have used the rest at the break as well.

I sure am glad we gave Shelvin all this extra PT and player development over Dennis. Mr. Mack is gonna make a fine backup PG for some other team next season.

with all these injuries of late, have we brought Jared Cunningham back to the team? Or did we pretty much decide it wasn't worth the Airfare to fly him back just to sit on the bench....

Elton's trying to carry us. But the load might be too heavy...or he's just too old and slow.

True story, halfway through the 2nd quarter. 18 minutes into the game, the WIZ have been credited with 17 assists already.
Man we're playing terrible.

we're getting our @sses handed to us. We're not that far away from lotto anymore... I mean what would be the opportunity cost? Getting swept or losing in 5 in the first round? I'd rather we start the tank and possibly be in a position to get a player like Mcdermitt in the draft.

We just gave up 5 offensive rebounds in a row on a single possession...man.
We need a Center. Feels like Groundhog Day. Been saying that for what seems like Years now.

I gotta think we have a big move in the works. We keep losing players to injury, but haven't signed a big man or brought back Cunningham. We are well coached, but untalented.
Ferry's got to be either bringing in talent for the playoff run or shipping it out for the tank.

We look like the 2004 Hawks. Back when we tanked last time on our way to a 13 win season. The stands in ATL are almost always empty, but tonight is particularly bad. The players look lethargic, like they've quit.
Is all this because we lack a real Center? Or because Demarre is out? Is there something else at play?
Somehow we got the deficit to 'only' 12 at the half.

Looks like Ferry is indeed pursuing Big Men.

This tells me DF's not throwing in the towel just yet. I just wish he had gone hard after Kaman or other Centers this summer....you know back when AL was being a 'diva' by saying he needed help manning the 5 spot.

we need to either get a starting caliber C (Kamen and Hill will be just fine) or we should abandon ship and start tanking.

They came out bad, won the middle two quarters and were gassed in 4th. They didn't quit. They got beat.
Here is the truth guys, when missing FIVE guys in Horford, Antic, Ayon, Jenkins, Carroll, we aren't that good of a team anymore. Until we get some of those guys back or sign some people, we aren't going to be a good team.

Yeah - ankle. He was driving to the hole and Gortat came up to meet him on the low block as Teague put up a floater. They collided which put Teague off-balance in the air then Teague landed on Gortat's foot and rolled his ankle. When Teague got up he was limping and really railing the refs who ate the whistle.
I don't think it's serious but it wouldn't surprise me if he was out for a week either.

C-Viv said Jeffrey wasn't limping in the locker room and told him that he was fine but of course when it comes to all nicks the morning after is the true determiner.

Horford, yes. But the rest of those players have never been major contributors in the NBA. Only Carroll is a major contributor on this team. The fact is that we just aren't very talented.
The Spurs are missing Kawhi, Manu and Tony Parker, yet they just keep chugging along.
I absolutely do not believe that JJ2 or Ayon being absent has much to do with our longest losing streak in seven years. I chalk it up to not having enough talent at the 5 spot or on the wings. Which was an issue last season as well. Teague's struggles are also a huge part of our team's struggles.

Teague is also struggling without AH there to PnR with, and our wings being not very good are issues for him as well. Its a VERY small court to him now
