I wonder what Ferry will get for Teague.
My guess is some team will buy Low and win. Ferry has made it all but clear that Teague must go... starting with the Summer. I can see Ferry taking in the poison and getting a guy like Jarrett Jack for Teague. Because Ferry is not in love with the contract that he felt forced into. It's unfortunate because Teague is as good as this season's start. He may end up being a top 5 PG in this league before it's all said and done.
But I'm sure that Danny Boy will come back with a whole lot of cap flexibility to keep us in trade conversations.

I feel a Jeff Teague for Jeremy Lin... and watch... Hawks fans Celebrate... and Jeff in the championship!!

Why would we dump Teague for Lin? Makes no sense. If we were willing to take a contract like Lin's, we'd insist on Asik, instead.

Yeah, exactly how was Ferry forced into Teagues contract? He could have let him go. I think the "Ferry isn't happy with Teague" thing is more myth than fact anyway.

Teague was playing at an Allstar level when he had someone to actually run the pick and roll with.

It's a very simple rule in business. Get something. Had we let Teague walk for nothing, we would have been fools. We matched Teague so that later down the line we can move him and GET Something. See the JTerry trade files on Get something.

So, you make that move to resign JT to get 'something', but you let Josh go in the same scenario?

Not a logical reason.....I would have let Josh go to MIA if I could have gotten a 1st rounder.

For all the fans of Josh Smith... heres news.. Jeff Teague has more value than Josh. Even now.. with Teague slumping. When GMs see Teague that see a fast PG who with vet help can succeed... When they look at Josh, they see a talented malcontent who is so in love with his 30% jumper that he is no good to anybody.

Therefore, when you speak of who will be better trade bait.. Teague is it. PLUS Josh Signed with Detroit early on in the Offseason. Teague wasn't reuped until later.

Considering that it seems Teague needs Horford, we won't see a trade until sometime next season.

Don't get too attached to Millsap. He's our rebound fling. Not a long term girlfriend. There's a reason he was only signed to a 2 year contract. He will literally be a Free Agent next year. And likely out of our price range.

Also, what's the benefit of acquiring a great Free Agent if he only has individual success? PM's been good. But this team was only a few games over .500 at full strength. Even with Horford and Millsap, we wouldn't have qualified as a playoff team in the tougher West. Had we tanked this entire year, I would have been frustrated but would have understood. Spending $27 million this year on Teague, Korver and Millsap just to be average...makes no sense to me.

Especially with this draft class coming out in the summer.

I'm sorry, but that is clearly ignoring the fact this team was starting mesh after rebuilding the entire roster when Horford went down. We were 7-3 in our last 10 and 4 out of last 5 before Horford went down with a 2 point loss to Miami being the loss.

Sure we were "only a few games over .500" but we were a team on the rise. Teague was an allstar before Horford went down and he could run the pick and roll. Al Horford was putting up undeniably Allstar numbers.

I'm sorry, but a team in the top of their conference with 2 All-stars is not just being average to me.

If Horford hadn't gone down, teams would have been lining up to make offers for Teague, just as they have for Millsap and Carroll. We'd be winning games - especially against the tanking teams - by margins large enough to play the bottom of the bench.

And what if Jenkins hadn't had the bad back? What would he look like if we were getting him open looks in a healthy offense? This team would have been loaded with attractive players on great contracts.

Sure, I'll blame Ferry for not listening to Horford's protestations that he wasn't physically able to stay at Center, especially since he's proven to be such a linchpin for the rest of the team. That one injury hurt us enormously.

Unless I'm right about him at SF.

And, even if he can't play there, why cry since we can trade him for value - an allstar on a contract that expires the same time that Love, Aldridge, Marc Gasol, Hibbert and Westbrook can become FAs? If Brook Lopez heals well, a large number of good teams may want a talent like Millsap to help them win in 2014-15 AND give them cap room for that next Summer.
