Look at our schedule, then at DET's, NYK's and CLE's. Then tell me which one we're going to drop below. At this point, the season's a wash and I wouldn't mind a few more minutes for the kiddies and a lottery pick (and maybe for Teague to get hot and boost his trade stock). I just don't see how we're going to fall that far.
We have 26 wins and are probably going to beat the 6ers and the Bucks (twice). We may lose tonight to the Celtics but we'll probably beat them when we get them back to Atlanta - they're tanking, too. So, we're probably going to end up with at least 30 wins (but probably more).
Looking at DET, I see 6 easier games and 3 strong possibles, giving them 32 wins at the best.
Looking at NYK, I see 3 easier games and 3 possibles, giving them 25 wins at the best.
Looking at CLE, I see 3 easier games and 6 possibles, giving them 31 wins at the best.
Remember also, these teams play each other, so only one team will win big enough to pass us. If one of these teams goes on a winning streak but then one of the others beats them in one game, it's all ruined.
Basically, we have to lose every game from here on out and DET has to go on a major winning streak.
So .... we have to pray for Josh Smith. We need 25 games of Good Josh. Come on, y'all, it's not like we've never wished he'd suddenly "get it" and see his career take off.
