When you consider that Ferry has gottten us out of the contracts of Josh, Joe, and Marvin...
That's over 40 Million in capspace. The question. What did we get?
For my Ferry fans, this is the question that should always be in front of you before you start talking about how great Ferry is. What did we get? IF I gave a crackhead 40 million dollars, after about 3 Months, if I return to him, he will be in the same place he was before. Giving a crackhead money doesn't help his problem.
In a way, the Hawks are a crackhead. We can't bring in top free agents. Money can't help our problem. So if Ferry's plan is to be the most cap flexible team in the NBA, I want you all to always remember this question... What does it get us?

jesus christ, can you make more threads? Are you that big of an attention whore? You could have kept this to the thread we are already arguing in.
To answer your question for the 5th time in a week, what does it get us? WE DONT KNOW because we have had 1 FREE AGENCY that literally had nothing available.
CP3 and D12 made their minds up. CP3 resigned almost as soon as the season ended. Anyone thinking we were getting those guys was a PIPE DREAM. We also had just hired a NEW COACH. Not many superstars are coming to play with a guy they dont know anything about.
This is a 3-5 year plan. We are on year 1.5 (you cant really count larry Drew and that draft because Ferry came in like what a month before the draft? And we wound up with Mike Scott).
This thread should be posted NEXT year at this time. this is the DEEPEST draft in 10 years(maybe 15), we have good picks, we have cap space, we have a coach who has shown he can take MEDIOCRE talent and make it competitive.
INJURIES have caused this season to slide. When AH was healthy we played pretty damn well in the beginning with some big wins. Then we lost our entire front court.
Ferry needs to address SG and CENTER this draft/FA. If he doesnt , then talk to me.
You seem like a guy that is very instant gratification, did you really think we were gonna land CP3 or D12? Did you really think this season was going to be any better than it was? this was a "manage through it" season. Play Millsap, see what you get, develop some other players, see what you get from DMC and Scott, Antic, Ayon.
this was always a .500 team that would be 6-8th seed with a WEAK EAST.
BE PATIENT, you are pissing and moaning after 1 season of Ferry

What does it get us?
1. Not having to pay Joe $21+ million until 2016 when his production did not justify it = WIN
2. We got a 1st round pick/a 2nd round pick/rights to swap picks this year and next, expiring contracts and Kyle Korver
3. Replacing Millsap with Josh = WIN
4. We traded Marvin for Devin Harris and we got some useful minutes when he played, which was more than Marvin ever gave us. We have essentially replaced Marvin with DMC, that is also a win!
