Interesting hire by the Hawks. I see he's a big part of why TBS/TNT etc. are successful. Thoughts?

This is the kind of move that makes me love Danny Ferry and believe in the hawks moving forward. This was a fantastic hire. I think everyone on this board should be very pleased and except some positive changes!

I'm not sure, but by the sound of things I believe Koonin is one of Ferry's bosses...NOT one of his hires.

I do believe this is a smart move, clearly aimed at improving the Hawks brand and the national reputation of the franchise. Not sure what more can be done outside of simply winning and acquiring a face of the franchise, but it will be interesting to see what initiatives he puts forth. Being 28th in attendance, ahead of only MIL and PHI is pretty pathetic. so there's nowhere to go but up, right?

I just hope we don't get stuck with our playoff series on NBATV.

Great coup by Hawks CEO Steve Koonin. It's well past time every Hawks game was televised. I was intrigued to see what type of initiatives SK would make as CEO. Even moreso after Ferry's fiasco. This is a wonderful move and he definitely deserves kudos.

Clearly he's heard complaints from our fanbase.
