Please stop talking about Deng

He is done. Barely a starter in the league nowadays. Certainly not worth the contracts I see being suggested on this board or around the Hawks blogosphere.

Here's a quick comparison of Deng to DMC:
Deng: 16.4 PP36, .517 TS%, .302 3PT%, 9.2 TRB%, 14.6 AST%, 15.2 PER
DMC: 12.5 PP36, .575 TS%, .362 3PT%, 10.0 TRB%, 8.9 AST%, 13.9 PER

Deng obviously scores more points and generates more assists - but DeMarre is FAR more efficient with his shooting, and Deng is looking to get paid 4-6x more.

30.2% from 3pt land is unplayable in the modern NBA. That is the 4rd lowest % of any qualified SF or SG, after Corey Brewer, Jimmy Butler, and of course, Josh Smith.

Yet some guys are tossing out 3 years, $36M? C'mon guys. I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS HERE.

Hes worth 10 million max. YOu kind have to throw out last season, but hes been in decline for awhile. Depends on how we would use him. Chicago RAN him into the ground with Rose being hurt, he wouldnt have to do all the heavy lifting here

Lend any credence to this?

Getting worried at all about how we're gonna use that $15 million in cap space?

I havent seen a single person recommend 3/36 for deng on this board. Where are these posts?

In regards to their shooting numbers, you have to account for circumstances. Deng was relied on to be a lead scorer. He ends up having to force shots at times since he has the ball in his hands more. He also receives more defensive attention. Carroll was the least regarded offensive starter on our team while all 5 guys were healthy. He also had the luxury of playing in our system which regularly ends up in a good look.

I think saying that dengs shooting would improve and Carroll's shooting would decline if roles were reversed is a factual statement. Just look at Carroll's improvement in shooting in his first year with us as evidence for this.

DMC was playing with ATL,
Deng was playing with CHI and CLE, and not ATL.

If we play like SAS, any players coming here will have an increase in %
I will welcome him, but only if he's OK for 8M max, to allow to sign another 9-10M player or more if we do a sign-&-trade.

I'm not OK for more than 8M/year

Not at all, Ferry doesnt overpay, EVER.

Do you see Ferry offering Deng something way outside his value?
