Rondo, Lebron or Melo, and Love.
I was thinking trading Horford and a first for Love, would that be enough? Then getting a 3rd team envolved to move Teague to the 3rd team for a first round pick going to boston and Rondo coming to Atlanta. Would that be enough? Then sign which ever would come to Atlanta Melo or Lebron.

Use Sapp to add value to either Boston or Minn if we need to. if neither team wants him move him to another team for added value to move to Boston or Minn.

is this even do-able?

A big 3 is an outdated strategy with the new CBA. We don't need 3 "stars". We just need 1 (particularly Lebron or Melo) to join our core of Teague.Korver.Milsap.Horford.

Some variation of this deal is doable...

but can we keep Horford? Love is undoubtedly a better offensive option.

But Horford is that glue guy that holds it all together. He could mesh better (on the court or in the locker room) with Rondo, Lebron and/or Carmelo.

Can Horford pretty please be a part of our BIG THREE?!?

Would rather have 4-5 above average startrs with a quality 6-8 than 3 stars and scrubs/ring chasers

I agree that we only need one Star. but can we attract only one star to come play with Horford,Sap, Teague,Korver?

you see a big 3 is out dated to you, but it is not outdated for the Players.

I think players are starting to see the writing on the wall after seeing the problems the Heat are beginning to experience. You can form a big 3 if one or two of those players are on cheaper than max deals. It will be very hard to form a contending big 3 with players on max or near max deals from here on out.

I don't think we can get Love without trading Minn Horford. and that still may not be enough. and I don't believe Melo or Lebron would come here with out Love unless we can get both Melo and James. If we gutted the team enough to get both Melo and Lebron we would be in the same boat as the heat. by moving Horford, teague, and maybe sapp we could get Love, Rondo, and James or Melo and still get solid players to fill out the rotation and bench.

Line up would be
Rondo/ Mack
Krover /Lamar Patterson
Melo or James/ DeMarre Carroll
Love/ Adreian Payne
?????/Pero Antic

salary would be as such
Melo or Lebron 20 Million
Love 15.7 mil
Rondo 13 mil
Krover 6.3
Carroll 2.5
Payne 1.9
Pero 1.25
Mack 1.1
Petterson 0.5

that is 62.2 the cap is 63.2. so we would still be under the cap. who could we get to play center????

maybe Jordan Hill or bring Brand back

I meant keeping Horford INSTEAD of trading for LOVE.

So i was doing the math. If Ferry can trade away Millsap, Teague, and Carroll, the Hawks will be left with $39 million in cap.

Al Horford $12,000,000
Kyle Korver $6,253,521
Dennis Schroeder $1,690,680
John Jenkins $1,312,920
Pero Antic $1,250,000
Adreian Payne $1,617,840

If they can package Antic with Millsap and Jenkins with Teague, the cap would then go down to $41.8 million.

This could forge a line up of

Horford
Payne
Carmelo/Korver
Lebron
Schroeder

or

Horford
Carmelo/Payne
Lebron
Korver
Schroeder

with Budz as the coach.

because I feel we would have more room under the cap the add debt to the bench. with melo and lebron not so much. and I wouldn't want Schroeder being the starting PG. and I bet Lebron and Melo wouldn't either.
