Do you guys think that Thabeet would be a good pick up for the Hawks. I think he could replace Bebe.

I thought this immediately when he was waived. At this point...what could it hurt?

I mean I don't see why not. As long as the price is right of course.

Hawks won't sign Thabet. Ferry only wants 14 players on the roster for potential trade flexibility.

We will always need a center; anyone we get will not produce enough for us.

Give it to Brand, Ayon, or even Jason Collins. I just hope we never have to depend on that roster spot like last year.

Don't really understand the interest in Thabeet since he has been useless throughout his NBA career. I would rather see us bring Brand back. At least he can provide 10-15 quality minutes per game instead of being a full-time bench warmer.

Thabeet has yet to prove that he can be a productive NBA player.
I'd pass on him but if we did bring him in hiring Deke to work with him a few days would be wise.

Sounds like this might be on the verge of occuring:

The Hawks could add a 15th player before the start of training camp next month. They are in negotiations with unrestricted center Elton Brand, who played last season with the team.

They also like bigs that are mobile/athletic if they are lacking in the skill department. Thabust is a stiff that doesn't tic any of the boxes for them.
