Value ("best bang for your buck"):

1. Thabo (our best wing defender imo and if he could get his shot back would start over Carroll. You also have to think about how valuable his contract will be when the cap rises significantly.
2. Shelvin Mack
3. Mike Scott
4. Pero Antic
5. Elton Brand

Jenkins and Bazemore could potentially swap spots as well as Teague & Milsap

You are relatively accurate. I would change a couple of things.

Al-because of perception
Sap-because he is expiring and made a all-star team
Teague-because he is on a good contract
Dennis Schroder-because of potential
Kyle-for a contending team

I moved thabo up a bit based on this. Im not sure about thabo.

Always hated these threads. I understand some humans' needs to make list for themselves to make comparisons easier, but the reality is that there isn't - and shouldn't - be a list in this case. As PMOTT says, "trade value" is like market value - it's all about who is the highest bidder which has everything to do with what the other guy is looking for. Even trying to make compromises such as saying "on average" only serves to further distance yourself from true trade value which means that a list like this would only serve to assist in killing deals instead of making them. For example due to the time of year, I'd assume that more teams are looking to make the playoffs and would depress the market for younger players, hence someone like a Carroll or a Thabo would probably have more trade value "on average" than someone like a Payne who has never played a game in the NBA. But would our FO accept a trade for our recent 1st that would be less than what we could get for a veteran backup? No, of course not, but the list should say that we would...

Still, some thoughts:
- From the definition you give, Millsap drops *way* down the list. Millsap's contract situation is such that, when traded, the team he goes to does not get any rights to him next off-season. Hence, a team trading for him would have to be in a particularly unique situation and I'm not sure that situation would add up to someone looking for someone of his talent level.
- Also from your definition, the players who have are productive but still young would have a much greater trade value, so that would move Mack and perhaps Schröder and Mike Scott up the list. The reason is that the player would appeal to more teams since he can fill a role now so he appeals to team still in "go fer it" mode, but since he's young, teams in rebuilding mode would like to acquire him as well.
- As mentioned above, older role players like Thabo and Korver would have more value now than later and should be adjusted accordingly.
