AL Horford Named EC Player of the Week

Nice to see the big fella getting back to normal.
All he needed was a little time to get the rust off.
From the AJC:Hawks center Al Horford was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Dec. 15-21, the NBA announced Monday. It is the second time he has won the honor in his career.
Horford helped the Hawks to a 3-0 record with impressive wins over the Bulls, Cavaliers and Rockets. During the stretch, he led the team in scoring with 18.3 points per game. He also added 6.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.0 steals. He shot 60.5 percent from the field.
“I’m honored but more happy for our team the way we have been playing,” Horford told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I look forward for us to keep getting better.”

This dude needs to be the building block. We need to make sure next summer's FA shopping spree is for players that are actually acquirable and that complement our top player.
And we need to start talks on an extension ASAP.

He deserves it. I'd love to see his rebound numbers go up though.
