He's a RFA that will definitely get the max around the league from basically any team that can afford him. Only way we get him is if the Spurs refuse to match the offer he gets this summer

Question: If it comes down to it...who would we choose: Horford or Kawhi?
If SAS offers us Kawhi in Sign-and-Trade for AL, could we turn it down? Kawhi is younger with a higher ceilng, but Horford is a top player at a position that is more difficult to fill.

I'd take Kawhi and make an extremely hard run at Millsap & Monroe.
Teague-Korver-Leonard-Millsap-Monroe is still extremely solid imo

I'd keep Carroll. Cheaper and he gets better every year.

I'm really starting to be against giving anybody a MAX contract. I like what Budz is doing and I like team basketball.
I think i would even be hesitant to give a MAX contract to a guy like Lebron or Durant. the only time i would comfortable in giving a max contract would be to a Hall of Famer big like Duncan or Shaq.
that is why i'm really glad we don't have Harden or Dwight on the team and never had to deal with them.

Kawhi and Jimmy Butler are two very possible candidates on the wing. The Spurs are hesitant to have guys on salaries at or above their value and Kawhi isn't with taking a paycut especially now that the Spurs are showing their age. Butler deserves to get paid but the Bulls operate like they are a small market team and avoid going into the lux tax at all cost. I see no reason why Al would be given up in a sign and trade for either though unless it's to free up space to also go after Marc Gasol.

I have no doubt that he'll bounce back but the situation with his hands seems to be rather serious.
It does concern me.
