The Knicks, cannot catch Atlanta, that is mathematically impossible.

The Knicks, cannot catch Atlanta, that is mathematically impossible. 82 game schedule. New York has played 53 of 82 games and have won 10 of them. The Knicks are now 33 games behind Atlanta with 29 games left, and so Atlanta will not finish last in the East - it is mathematically impossible. Any combination of Raptor wins and Knick losses totaling 3 keeps the Knicks from catching Toronto. The Knicks have to catch No. 8 Charlotte to make the playoffs The Knicks are 12 games behind Charlotte with 29 games left. The magic number is 18. As of the All Star break, any combination of Charlotte wins or Knick losses totaling 18, and the Knicks are out.

Knicks were gaining that momentum with those almost wins recently. Good to know that juggernaut can't get to us anymore.

I know it's a longshot, but I still think Knicks might pull it out and get that #1 seed this year.
