Old Ben Kinobi, arguably the wisest Jedi of them all. Bud, like Ben Kinobi, has passed the days of his prime but can still provide an extradinory amount of knowledge. Bud's knowledge of the game and ability to teach any of his players his style of play is what earns him this Star Wars character.

Kyle Korver



Han Solo, The Marksman Sniper. No supreme Jedi powers, not super athletic, but he does have one thing on his side. His pin point accuracy with his gun. Han and Kyle's accuracy is debatable as to which is better but I'll take the guy on pace for a 50/50/90 season. This seemed like a perfect fit to me.

Paul Millsap



Mace Windu, one of the great Jedi masters. A very humble guy but also not afraid to take care of business when needed. Windu may not have been one of the young spring chicken Jedi's but his wisdom and knowledge of the force allowed him to stay ahead of the curve. This seemed like a good fit for Paul.

Jeff Teague



I admit I struggled with this one but hear me out first. Yoda, the most Bad A$$ Jedi of them all. He doesn't let his size get in the way of his ability to completely take over and destroy his enemies. His appearance may not be frightening but his athleticism combined with his Jedi skills sure is. If there was a "young" Yoda then that would be a better fit for Teague.

DeMarre Carroll



Chewbacca, this guy is one hairy beast. Again, no Jedi powers or force abilities but has great accuracy with his cross bow. He can be ferocious at times but also compassionate. Chewy has a big heart and has his teamates backs no matter the situation. Carroll's 3 point accuracy has been on the rise this season and maybe it was his nickname "junkyard dog" that led to me choose Chewbacca.

Al Horford



Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, let me explain. Anakin (at this stage) is oozing with power. He remains good but when push comes to shove he can reveal his ultimate power side to his enemies. Al "the boss" Horford is the power to our offense/defense. When he is missing then our defense falls of a cliff as well as our offense due to lack of floor spacing. I think we all know just how important he is and the power he posseses to our system.

Game Girl

I think some beer is in my nose after seeing the Carroll / Chewy comp.

Have to say that Coach Bud is definitely Yoda. Kind of even look similar with the eyes...

Which would make Teague Kenobi. Nice offset with Kenobi being both the student (to Qui-Gonn / Coach Bud) and the teacher (Anakin / Schröder).

Great call on Millsap. For those that don't completely geek out with the expanded universe, Windu created a light saber style, Vaapad, that borders on using the dark side when dueling. If there's one guy that seems to go off-book in our O and does something that is more 1-on-1, it's Millsap. And the bald head. And the fact that it's never a bad thing to be comped to Jules Winnfield.

OTOH, what about GSW?
Kerr is the Darth Bane. Blew up the old Sith Order and implemented the rule of 2 which eventually led the Sith to unparalleled heights; Kerr redid the iso-O into a motion O and the team took off.

Curry is Palpatine. Everything goes through him.

Thompson is Darth Vadar. The Emperor's right hand man.

Barnes is Jenga or Boba Fett from the movies. Looks pretty bad ass and did do that one move but is surprisingly ineffective overall.

Draymond Green is R2D2. Role Poly looking guy who has a lot of grit and always seems to have exactly what you're looking for.

Bogut is General Greivous. Never around at the climatic scene as he jumped ship / got hurt.

Maybe your best GT ever, loved it.

Sucks that Kyle and Thompson are both out, both are focal points to their respective teams. Gonna be tough in the Oracle, but if we win, then we establish ourselves as the undisputed best team in the NBA.

Appreciate it. I always try to go big on the GT's that are the big games. theatlfan might be right about swapping Yoda with coach Bud though. Oh well.

The SG matchup will be neutralized with Klay/Korver out so it should make for an interesting game.

It's always appreciated when you put these together. Before you came along, it was pretty hit or miss whether we had a Game Thread or not.

This pmott guy was all over the warriors board as a bandwagon fan earlier this year and as soon as Atlanta started doing well he dissapears and hasn't been seen since and then now STEALS a warriors forum gamethread. Dude you seriously have no shame and are the worst kind of fan. Ead.

It's true. He had a Warriors logo next to his name for a long time. He's an Atlanta fan that bandwagoned us for awhile. Just happy he landed on a team and is sticking with it. No hard feelings... he's free to chose who he wants to root for.

Anyway.. even though I called him out on copying Coxy's thread, there is no beef. He's been a respectful poster when he was on our board. I was just being ornery to get the competitive juices flowing.

No Korver or Thompson, but it'll still be very exciting to watch. For once, ESPN actually picked a good game.

As for bandwagoning, it could always be worse....I have a buddy who roots for Duke bball, OSU fball, Yankees MLB, Pats NFL, and he pulls for LeBron. Talking sports with him makes my head hurt.

Lol. My son is like that... Michigan College Football, Gonzaga College Basketball, Green Bay NFL, Warriors NBA and Seattle MLB. At least I have him dialed in as a Warrior fan now. He just moved to Bend Oregon so we'll see how long it takes for him to jump to the Trail Blazers.

I bleed Boston, but I live in Atlanta. The only local team i root for is the Hawks honestly just because I love NBA. Falcons , nope. Braves - NOPE

Lol. "Stealing"? How is it stealing when that star wars game thread from the Warriors board wasn't even the first one ever. I've seen a star wars game thread before that one so does that mean the guy that did the star wars game thread on the Warriors board stole from the other one? Heck if we follow your logic then I guess I'm stealing from Nike today because I'm wearing a Nike shirt right now

And as far as the fan conundrum goes, I am and will always be a Hawks fan. However, I still root for the Warriors as my second favorite team and that was when the season started NOT when all the hype started. Just because I don't ever post anymore on the Warriors board doesn't mean I don't watch their games or root for them.

We're like that as youths, some change others stay the same. I did like the Bulls for a minute so they could get over the hump while the Hawks, but after a while I was tired of em, lol. I know a dude who loves Duke, but Irish football and now they are ACC mates, lol

I mean, I dont know how that is possible, thats a ton of different Geographic locations. They are basically all the power house 90s early 2000s and Lebron teams lol
