When the Hawks drafted Mike Muscala in the second round two years ago, they told him right away they wanted him to develop a three-point shot. Since then, Muscala has worked diligently on his long-range-shooting, and the Hawks have committed themselves to...fixing the arena's photography?
"Last year there was a picture of me shooting a shot out in the hallway (of Philips Arena) and I had my elbow kind of out," Muscala said Monday. "(General manager Danny Ferry) made a point to take me out there. He said, 'We're taking this photo down, and we're putting up a different photo of you so you don't shoot like this any more.'"
The team clearly believes in his skill too. In post-practice free throw competitions, Muscala is regularly matched up against Kyle Korver and John Jenkins, the team's two purest shot-strokers. And Muscala said that having Korver, arguably the world's greatest three-point shooter, with him in the gym is a huge plus.
"Kyle will say some things to me here and there during a game. It's nice when you play with Kyle. You can watch the best shooter in the world," he said.
