Who do you want Atlanta to face in the ECFs, Bulls or Cavs?

With news of Wall being done for the series essentially wrapping up this series, its not too early to talk about the next round, is it?

I was talking to a buddy of mine about this, he's not a Hawks fans but he said Atlanta would prefer playing the Bulls than the Cavs. Made me think about it so I figured I'd ask yall. Was wondering which team Atlanta fans would prefer the Hawks to play if Atlanta advances, Cavs or Bulls. Cavs are shorthanded without Love obviously but they still got LeBron. Chicago is deep but the Wizards have the bigs to counter their bigs with.

If you had your choice, would you rather the Hawks face Cavs or the Bulls?

It's about 3 wins too early to talk about the next round. As for the question, I'm completely torn with Love injured. If Love was healthy then I'd much rather face Chicago.

Hopefully we make the ECF. Give me the team without LeBron James, but we need to take of business vs Washington before thinking ahead. They have HCA.

Come on guys, I get that you don't want the players to focus on looking past the Wiz and they won't with a guy like Budenholzer at the helm. But as fans, your allowed to look ahead

So with Love injured, you'd prefer Cavs?

I think its a good match up for you guys. Caroll is an excellent defender so should be able to limit LeBron some. Horford and Millsap should be able to DOMINATE in the paint against Mozgov and Thompson.

Hawks bench with Schroder also gives advantage to Atlanta there.

The reason we are so hesitant to call this series anything but over is because we have experienced first hand the Atlanta sports franchise curse. We are 0-15 all time in this round. We have never had luck on our side at all. Anything is still possible in my book.

As far as your question goes, I can't speak for the rest of us BUT...if have to go with Chicago. It's tempting to choose a Kevin love-less Cleveland team but I'm not picking LeGOAT. Plus I like our matchups against the Bulls.

Carroll can limit Butler and make him work the whole series for his points.

I don't see Korver having to expend a lot of energy on the defensive side guarding Dunleavy, so that's another advantage.

The true advantage is in the big matchups imo.

Millsap/Horford vs Gasol/Noah

Our versatility and ability to stretch Gasol away from the basket should help us attack on the boards since Noah isn't exactly the biggest center (I believe he only has a slight height advantage over Horford but could be wrong).

I agree with everyone else that it is too early BUT....

Give me Lebron James. We will get the short end of the stick from the refs vs either team so I want the chance to be the first Eastern team to knock Lebron out of the playoffs in 5 years. Their lack of depth will be a serious problem for them when facing us and our type of offense will also be a serious problem for them. Chicago plays right in to their hands with immobile bigs and one, Noah, who is completely useless on offense.

We can take Cleveland if Teague's ankle is fine and Horford's pinky heals and he starts knocking down his midrange shot.

Dare I say id rather face King James. I feel like Demarre matched up with LBJ would be a great thing to witness. KI would have his way. It would be a good series, but Im not ready to say we could beat them, i would still heavily favor CLE because I cant bet against the greatest player on the planet.

Chicago I feel would DESTROY us. They have outside shooting, they have a lockdown wing like us, they have rim protectors, they have a 7 footer who can straight score, they have a kyle Korver in Dunleavy (at times). D rose would be the X Factor.

If we play Hawks basketball, we should beat either team in 6. If we continue to struggle on offense, we will likely lose. So it doesn't really matter to me much.

Ehh, we've seen it come and go. But you are right, we hit our peak in January. But we've played well enough to continue winning. I just think it's more a matter of how we play instead of who we play.

I still think we have a good matchup with the Cavs. We all knew Lebron would have a big game even with Demarre guarding him, yet we were in it the entire game. JR Smith going nuts is the x factor.
