This thread is for the discussion of all things draft related. That includes rumors, social media, draft combine results, prospects, draft needs, prospects that would fit in our system, etc.
*I didn't see an official draft thread so I decided to create one to clean up the board a bit.

Re: Atlanta Hawks 2015 Draft Thread
Does anybody think there is any chance we move up in this draft? Sucks that we were 1 game away from having the #11 instead of the #15. This is most likely going to be our highest draft pick for a while.

Re: Atlanta Hawks 2015 Draft Thread
It'll cost us. Moving forward, the only real tradable assets we possess are Teague, Dennis, Tavares, the Minnesota pick and this summer's Brooklyn pick.
Teague could get us a pick in the 5-10 range easily, if there is a prospect we really like.

Re: Atlanta Hawks 2015 Draft Thread
I think it all comes down to who we think our PG should be from here on out as far as trading up goes. As its been said, Teague could probably get is a top 10 pick(5-10), and we could then go with one of the wings at that pick, and a big at 15.
Stanley Johnson is probably the best 2 way guy we could go with, while Booker fits as the best floor spacer we utilize now. Hezonja would give us the go-to guy we lack for sure.
If Trey Lyles fell to 15, we should jump all over him.
If don't trade Teague, then maybe trade up a few spots for Myles Turner would give us a much needed man in the middle.
This honestly could be a off-season/draft to solidify our status as a true contender. good talent everywhere in the draft

Wood call #3,#4 and ask what it would cost to move up with them.

I'd give up the farm for D'Angelo Russell. Really convinced that kid will develop into a Melo-like scorer. The defense concerns me but he'd be our first franchise star in Atlanta since Dominique.

This is why Willie Cauley-Stein would look good in a Hawks jersey. He'd give them size, rebounding, athleticism, and RIM PROTECTION.
^^^^^And why are you so high on Russell? There have been a lot of discussions about him on the Lakers Board, and there seem to be concerns about his defense, athletic ability/speed, and his ability to get his shot off over lanky defenders. That sounds like a lot of red flags for a franchise player to have.

WCS ain't going to be there at #15, he's likely gone 4-11 (and more likely top 6). Fortunately there are guys to target in the #15 range, albeit barely. Right now I'm thinking Rondae or Dekker will be nice players available at that slot.

Myles Turner seems to be around the top 12 range. could be a steal seeing as to how he was a top player coming out of high school.

Re: Atlanta Hawks 2015 Draft Thread
My pick would be Kaminsky for sure. He is long, he can play the PF position. He is intelligent. He would give us size and IQ at 7-1.
Of course he is not potentially the best player out there. Of course he is not the most athletic player out there. Of course he is not the most flashy.
But I believe we would have a young Pero Antic and even some security in case Millsap does not resign here, which could be very plausible.
Then we should remember we have Tavares overseas (7-3), who could come this year, although I believe he is still at least a year from being ready to get some minutes here.
I believe we should try to get a trade for someone who can play the C position for us. Cleveland will have Mozgov, Thompson and new signed Sasha Kaun (7-1, already played for the Cavs some years ago), together with Varejao. Denver is also filled with big players.
Aldridge, Gasol... also excellents fits here.

Many mocks (better most mocks) show him there for the Bucks after us.

As the draft comes closer, that's going to change. I just can't see him there.

I'm for Booker, but if Myles Turner or Stanley Johnson fall, then i would rather take them.
If all three are gone, then maybe Kaminsky, Kelly Oubre, Justin Anderson, Kevon Looney, or Delon Wright. Of the five, i'm leaning towards Kelly Oubre, but only slightly.

Rumor has it that the heat are liking Kaminsky over alot of the underclassmen.

I'm warming up to the idea of getting Bobby Portis if Turner, Johnson, and Booker aren't there.
