The Season Schedule is Here

http://www.nba.com/hawks/scheduleShould be noted that Hawks home games will now have an 8:00pm EST (20:00 for our Edy/Dennis fans) tip off. This would be the 2nd time in the past decade that the team has moved back it's tip off presumably to combat the late arriving crowds "traffic" problems. Also 8 nationally televised games with not 1 but 2 games on TNT and the rest on ESPN, no idea on the NBATV offerings.

Very nice soft start to the schedule. Our first five games are against teams that failed to make the playoffs last season, and games 6 and 7 are against last year's 8 seeds. Schedule up to November 21st (first game against the Cavs) looks very manageable. The Hawks should come out of the gates running.

I much prefer the 7 tips, especially from someone who has to get up at 5:30 for work.

I guess the fans should still think it's 7:30 games, so they can be in the seats in the 1st quarter.

Agreed. The later tips will no doubt help fans get into their seats by tip off.
But this move, I imagine, is largely about money. Most Hawks fans still watch games on TV. And televised games featuring a good team and broadcast in Prime Time will likely bring in higher ad revenue.
But I do miss the days as a young teen that I could watch Hawks games to completion (plus Post-Game) and still be in bed by 10:30.

Very disappointed we still received so few games on the top 3 broadcasts.

USATODAY also noted the disparity:
The champion Golden State Warriors and Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers each will be on ESPN, ABC or TNT 25 times in 2015-16, the highest of any other team in the league.
The teams with the next most appearances on ESPN, ABC or TNT: Los Angeles Clippers (24), Oklahoma City (24), Chicago (23), San Antonio (21), Los Angeles Lakers (19), Houston (19), New Orleans (13) Miami (11) and Memphis (10).
The Atlanta Hawks, who were the No. 1 seed in the East and won a franchise-record 60 games last season, are on ESPN, ABC or TNT eight times.
We win the most games in the Conference and get 8 games. Lakers are hot trash for years...and get 19?
Even Memphis and Houston get more games on the big 3 than us.
What will it take to be taken seriously in this league?!?!

8 PM is fine. Still can download Hawks game to my phone before I go to work. But until Kyle is back in the starting line up I'll spend my time with young teams like Wolves, Magic or Nuggerts.

I mean it's purely about either fans that are going to watch a team like the lakers or a team that the league wants people to start watching because they want a guy to become a big star like the Pelicans.

Well sometimes you gotta think on the outside, if you weren't a Hawks fan would you want to rush home to see them? They had a very good regular season only to get swept in the ecf, after getting there for the first time, and Horford, Millsap and Teague aren't national draws. Either get a star or repeat last season with better results in the playoffs.

AGREED!!!
And even our first game against CLE on the road is on a Saturday and NOT on national TV.
Tells me the league isn't pushing that matchup going forward as a 'rivalry' game.
Guess we'll just have to dominate the regular season again and put on a more impressive postseason showing to win over the skeptics.

I think Kobe is getting the retirement tour treatment with all of those appearances but I'm sure that in his best Kobelese he will be saying "who the #%@$ said I'm retiring?" During every production meeting.
I feel worse for the kids that may have to sit through Russell, Louie, Swaggy and Kobe sharing a court at once though. That there is enough to undo years of little league coaching while the Hawks beautiful brand goes unnoticed.

So much this.
So much ego, immaturity and lack of fundamentals. Should be a trainwreck.
